Discusses the anti-poll-tax campaign in GB as one of the most significant protest movements against the neoliberal policies of the Margaret Thatcher administration. The campaign is notable not only because of its size -- it was the largest act of civil disobedience in postwar GB -- but also because it mobilized sections of the population not frequency mobilized; its decentralized organization & social structural & political heterogeneity are also compelling. Its political fallout is briefly considered. 6 References. E. Blackwell
