Western modern thought represented, for the peoples of the south, a cultural, political, and social hegemony, the product of the installation of instrumental rationality in our societies, over and above the different millenary knowledge and expressions of proven fertility, invisibilizing,marginalizing and excluding the different cognitive perspectives of non-Western cultures. From this framework of ideas, this research, aims to analyze the decolonization of knowledge, beingand power to consolidate a transformative and emancipatory project from university education. The methodological approach is inserted in the qualitative tradition, specifically from the philosophical hermeneutics. The most representative conclusion of the same one, takes us to recognize the vital thing that it implies for the towns of the south, to develop a decolonial university educational thought as ethical, political, ecological project from the interculturality other. ; El pensamiento moderno occidental representó, para los pueblos del sur, una hegemonía cultural, política, social, producto de la instalación de la racionalidad instrumental en nuestras sociedades, por encima de los diversos saberes y expresiones milenarias de probada fecundidad, invisibilizando, marginado y excluyendo las diferentes perspectiva cognoscitivas propias de las culturas no occidental. Desde este marco de ideas, esta investigación, tiene como objetivo analizar la decolonización del saber, ser y poder para consolidar un proyecto transformador y emancipador desde la educación universitaria. El enfoque metodológico se inserta en la tradición cualitativa, específicamente desde la hermenéutica filosófica. La conclusión más representativa del mismo, nos lleva a reconocer lo vital que implica para los pueblos del sur, desarrollar un pensamiento educativo universitario decolonial como proyecto ético, político, ecológico desde la interculturalidad otra.

La imaginación es –al decir de María Noel Lapoujade- un conjunto de actividades múltiples, es una estructura procesal compleja, integrada al dinamismo psíquico que se presenta como un fluir total, indivisible, continuo, único. Dentro de este marco de ideas; el presente trabajo trata de resaltar los temas de la imaginación presente en la obra de Campanella: La Ciudad del Sol, por ser una utopía tiene una relación directa con esa temática. Por ello, en primer lugar, daremos una presentación general de la obra, en segundo lugar, trabajaremos con algunas defi niciones de la utopía según P. Ricoeur quien considera las utopías productos de la imaginación, luego tocaremos algunos temas más resaltante de la obra: la forma de gobierno, la educación, revalorización del trabajo manual, para fi nalmente poner al tapete las ideas de la imaginación y utopía, presente en la obra La Ciudad del Sol. ; The imagination is - when saying of Maria Noel Lapoujade- a set of multiple activities, is a complex procedural structure, integrated to the dynamism psychic that appears like fl owing total, indivisible, continuous, unique. Within this frame of ideas; the present work tries to emphasize the subjects of the present imagination in the work of Campanella: The City of the Sun, for being an utopia has a direct relation with that thematic one. For that reason, in the fi rst place, we will give a general presentation of the work, secondly, we will work with some defi nitions of the utopia according to P. Ricoeur that considers the utopias products of the imagination, soon we will touch some subjects resaltante of the work: the form of government, the education, revaluation of the manual work, fi nally to put to the rug the ideas of the imagination and utopia, present in the work the City of the Sun. ; 103-110

This research seeks to contribute to the contemporary debate in relation to the role that the university plays in the formation of citizenship, for this the contributions of decolonial thought that proposes from the same decolonial and intercultural pedagogical praxis to incorporate the various social expressions is taken as a theoretical reference, policies and ethics that characterize the peoples and cultures of our America. For this, the objective of this study is to analyze the university, citizenship and interculturality as contributions to a decolonial pedagogy. From a hermeneutical methodology that allows to interpret and understand some key aspects for the construction of another university. It is concluded that promoting a decolonial education from the university contributes to building another pedagogy that from experiences not systematized by the West allow to show other didactic and methodological routes of learning. The university must be a space where all the various cultural, artistic, political, poetic, literary, philosophical and world-views of their own frequent, without one getting in the way of others, seeking from utopia and hope to build another world. ; La presente investigación procura aportar al debate contemporáneo en relación al papel que juega la universidad en la formación de ciudadanía, para ello se toma como referente teórico los aportes del pensamiento decolonial que propone desde las mismas praxis pedagógicas decoloniales e interculturales incorporar las diversas expresiones sociales, políticas y éticas que caracterizan a los pueblos y culturas de nuestra América. Para ello, el objetivo, de este estudio es analizar la universidad, ciudadanía e interculturalidad como aportes para una pedagogía decolonial. Desde una metodología hermenéutica que permita interpretar y comprender algunos aspectos clave para la construcción de una universidad otra. Se concluye que promover una educación decolonial desde la universidad contribuye a edificar una pedagogía otra que desde experiencias no sistematizada por occidente permitan mostrar otras rutas didácticas y metodológicas de aprendizaje. La universidad debe ser un espacio donde frecuenten todas las diversas expresiones culturales, artísticas, políticas, poéticas, literarias, filosóficas y cosmovisiones propias, sin que una se interponga sobre otras, procurando desde la utopía y esperanza construir un mundo otro.

Entre las críticas más importantes a la racionalidad occidental, y surgidas a raíz de la modernidad, están las contenidas en la obra de Edgar Morin. Este estudio analiza los cuestionamientos que desde la teoría de la complejidad se hacen a la hegemonía de la perspectiva epistemológica instrumental de occidente, la cual, al haber formulado el antagonismo entre sujeto-objeto en el proceso de construcción del conocimiento, concibe a la naturaleza como ámbito capaz de soportar cualquier manipulación por parte del hombre y niega el valor de otros saberes engendrados desde diversas perspectivas gnoseológicas. La actitud depredadora de la modernidad ante la naturaleza, impone la urgente necesidad de plantear una ética ecológica que garantice la permanencia de la vida sobre nuestro planeta. Esta reflexión debe superar el actual paradigma de civilización.

To continue with the university transformation processes that have characterized Latin America in recent decades, the Ecuadorian government has promoted significant changes in its educational policy, demanding a curricular review in higher education institutions. The Universidad Politécnica Salesiana (UPS) responded to this demand with a comprehensive redesign of its curricula, aimed at providing a complete education for its students. This redesign encompassed interdisciplinary aspects, including research, outreach, teaching, collaborative methodologies, the use of new technologies, and the strengthening of Salesian charisma and identity. This paper aims to analyze this transformation and the curricular redesign of the Área Razón y Fe and Pastoral at UPS over its 30 years. Using a hermeneutic methodology, the concepts and positions that help understand its evolution are interpreted. It is concluded that UPS has met the challenge of viewing education as a dynamic system that integrates global and local, science, research, and service to vulnerable communities.

This essay aims to analyze the social responsibility in the process of university transformation in Venezuela. Based on a hermeneutical methodology, a documentary interpretation of texts exploring the need to transform the university from a social approach , promoting overcome the paradigm of modernity , establishing a dialogue of knowledge and recognizing that it is essential to a university social responsibility makes possible to link all stakeholders in the socio-educational process scientific , technological, political and social development of a country with a humanistic , critical and community approach. ; Este ensayo tiene como objetivo analizar la responsabilidad social en el proceso de transformación universitaria en Venezuela. Basado en una metodología hermenéutica, se hace una interpretación documental de algunos textos que estudian la necesidad de transformar la universidad desde un enfoque social, promoviendo superar el paradigma de la modernidad, estableciendo un diálogo de saberes y reconociendo que es indispensable una responsabilidad social universitaria que permitan vincular todos los actores del proceso socioeducativos al desarrollo científico, tecnológico, político y social de país con un enfoque humanístico, crítico y comunitario.

This paper is the slightly revised text of the opening address of the conference on "Long-Term Processes in Human History: A Tribute to Johan Goudsblom," held in Amsterdam on 17-19 March 2022. It pays tribute to the Dutch sociologist Johan Goudsblom (1932-2020), leader of the Amsterdam School of Soci-ology and major champion of the work of Norbert Elias. The author sketches Goudsblom's early life and reminisces about his own debt to Goudsblom as a friend and mentor. Tribute is paid to the extraordinarily wide range of Goudsblom's interests, his prolific output as a sociologist and essayist, and the number of postgraduate theses he supervised. The connecting thread running through all his work was a concern with long-term social processes and the inseparability of sociological thinking and historical evidence. The breadth of his learning is especially obvious in his magnum opus, the book Fire and Civilization, and his late multidisciplinary collaborations in the study of ecological regimes.

The very title of John Heywood's interlude A mery play between Johan Johan, the husband, Tyb his wife, and Sir Johan the priest (in print by 1533) suggests a fabliaux-like, farcical intrigue, which can be enacted by three characters only: a hen-pecked husband, a shrewish wife and a parish priest, i.e. the wife's lover. The play centres on the motif of eternal triangle, Tyb being at the heart of the whole intrigue and responsible for disrupting order within the household. This paper examines how the official ideology of household is subverted in the play, deals with carnivalesque empowerment of the female character which results from this subversion, shows how female rebellion is counterattacked with misogynist implications of the play, and, finally tries to hint at political implications the interlude might have had despite its entertaining and comic qualities.

Ein Nachruf

Desde hace décadas se viene hablando en América Latina y de manera muy particular en Venezuela sobre la necesidad de una transformación universitaria. Lo que, como es de esperar, genera gran debate entre quienes se aferran a las roídas estructuras de las instituciones de educación superior por los privilegios que consagran y los que apuestan por una nueva universidad. Este trabajo intenta contribuir al gran debate nacional que el proyecto de Ley de Educación Universitaria (2010) ha generado en Venezuela, para ello hace énfasis en lo importante de la radicalización de la democracia universitaria y la introducción del pensamiento crítico en los planes de estudio.

El verano de 2018 varias investigaciones en el planeta mostraron la lacerante realidad de la extensión de la pederastia en el clero católico que, en su mayor parte, tuvo lugar muchas décadas atrás. Otras investigaciones concomitantes muestran que, en sectores intelectuales minoritarios pero relevantes, la lectura social de la consideración del niño como sujeto de derechos era muy diferente a la de nuestros tiempos. Entre los años 60 y 70 del siglo pasado hasta nuestros días, se ha vivido un choque entre dos paradigmas: uno menguante, el del padre, y otro creciente, el del niño. Hemos transitado del padre rey al niño rey.
