"Reforming the United Nations - Fit for Purpose at 75? - examines the efforts of Secretary-General, António Guterres, to improve the aging organisation during 2017-2019. On development, the global network was repositioned better to assist countries. On peace and security, the Secretariat was reorganised with a focus on conflict prevention. On management, the paradigm centred on decentralisation and accountability. Other priorities addressed sexual exploitation in peacekeeping and gender parity. The detail analysis of the reform process highlights the positions of the United States, Russia, China, the Group of 77 and the European Union. Official records are used. The Guterres reform was respectable by improving efficiency and effectiveness. Reform proposals did not, however, address fundamental problems including Security Council reform"--

Der Strukturwandel auf dem deutschen Krankenhausmarkt schreitet unaufhaltsam voran. Er äußert sich insbesondere in einer verstärkten Tendenz zu Zusammenschlüssen von Krankenhäusern und der deutlichen Verschiebung von kommunaler und frei-gemeinnütziger Trägerschaft zugunsten privater Krankenhauskonzerne. - Die Rechnungslegung nach IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) stellt bereits für Krankenhäuser in der ersten Vorüberlegungs- und Planungsphase dieses Prozesses ein wirkungsvolles Instrument zur Generierung entscheidungsrelevanter Informationen dar. Der leichtere Zugang zu den Kapitalmärkten ist im Zuge des zunehmenden Finanzbedarfs für nicht geförderte Investitionen (Stichworte: Rating, Basel II) ein weiteres Argument für viele Krankenhausträger, ihre Rechnungslegung auf IFRS umzustellen. - Das vorliegende Werk stellt die Bilanzierung nach IFRS und HGB/KHBV mit dem Fokus auf krankenhausspezifische Sachverhalte praxisnah gegenüber und geht vertiefend auf die für Krankenhausunternehmen wesentlichen IFRS-Grundsätze ein.
