China is one of the largest e-waste dumping sites in the world, and Hong Kong, a semi-autonomous territory in China, is also affected by illegal e-waste disposal and transfer. While the Chinese government implemented a waste import ban in January 2018, Hong Kong has not enforced Chinese policies under the &ldquo ; One Country, Two Systems&rdquo ; framework. Drawing on a policy network approach, this paper provides an explanatory framework for e-waste governance in Hong Kong and China, and identifies the major obstacles to shaping effective transboundary e-waste control and prevention. The paper argues that institutional arrangements play a dominant role in governing e-waste policy networks at the local level of governance in Hong Kong and China ; however, a lack of accountability and capacity at the transboundary level can explain the different waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) management strategies in these two places.

It is a clich that change is inevitable but it is what it is. For many organization change is a constant thing. If a leaders mandate is to prepare the organization for change in the future while delivering results in the present then specific preparation is required. Recent studies on organizational change were done on private and big organizations but are limited on local governments where change is also a common thing. This study gave focus on the organizational change capacity of local government employees in one of the towns in Romblon Philippines There are six dimensions of change capacity namely facilitative culture supportive infrastructure different change approaches ongoing strategizing sufficient resources and willingness and ability to change that were the basis of this study. Based on the result of the study the dimension that has the highest change capacity is the different change approaches which shows that these employees understood different approaches to change by using appropriate methods and strategy. They gave importance to expertise accept coaching and consulting share best practices and inform people of the changes to happen. There is a proper dissemination of information in the organization by debriefing people and giving importance to learning and experience. Overall the organization is ready for any organization change in the future depending on the mandate of their leader.

Aim:This study revealed, through their narrations, the changes in the lived experiences of children who resided in residential childcare services regarding the going home process in a Chinese context.Methods:The research design is that of a panel study of a qualitative nature. Eight children, aged from 9 to 18, were interviewed at three different points during the process of going home. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, supplemented by the use of reflective photography. Data were analyzed by three narrative approaches - macrostructure, plot development and theme.Results:The findings indicated that the children's lived experience with the going home process was a path of stabilization, which meant that their sense of control over their lives was increasing from the first to the second to the third wave of data collection. The children's stories were progressive, with their narrations characterized by advancement. Three themes, namely "uncertainty", "restoration" and "challenge", emerged at three points in time, with distinctive concerns and feelings occurring in each stage.Conclusion:Their experiences reflected the dominant discourses on children, particularly on disadvantaged children such as children in care. These children are constructed by Chinese society as innocent, lacking knowledge and powerless culturally and socially. Alternative discourses on children as knowledgeable, resourceful and active agents were identified in this study, which shed light on child welfare policy and practice.

Abstract. Introduction: With advances in medicine, our understanding of diseases has deepened and diagnostic criteria have evolved. Currently, the most frequently used diagnostic systems are the ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) to diagnose alcohol-related disorders. Results: In this narrative review, we follow the historical developments in ICD and DSM with their corresponding milestones reflecting the scientific research and medical considerations of their time. The current diagnostic concepts of DSM-5 and ICD-11 and their development are presented. Lastly, we compare these two diagnostic systems and evaluate their practicability in clinical use.

This research article examines new stakeholder businesses in Tongcheng and Huaining, two counties in Anhui province, China, as cases for a comparative analysis of the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in supporting education in China's rural areas. The research primarily utilises interviews with personnel from the local education bureau, rural schools and related corporations. The study suggests that CSR has promoted rural education in Tongcheng and Huaining through various channels, including foundations, local non-governmental organisations, government agencies and direct involvement. However, most CSR involvement is highly vulnerable, owing to the lack of institutionalisation and formalisation of CSR behaviour. Additionally, the inappropriate administrative practices of governments and the unreliable fund distribution channels are impediments to advancing CSR. The study demonstrates that CSR is a rapidly developing concept in China, with strong untapped potential to improve rural education if current obstacles can be removed. (China/GIGA)
