Work your money, not your life: how to balance your career and personal finances to get what you want
"When the life people are living and the life people want to live don't match up, they may feel stressed or off-balance. People naturally try to solve the immediate issue they think is causing this uneasiness. If they're stressed about money and falling behind, they may buy one of the many personal-finance books in the market. If they're unhappy with their jobs, they may grab a book on how to find the right career. For those seeking more meaning in their lives, they might opt for a book on mindfulness. In the current state, readers are forced to comb through several books and topic areas to try to connect the dots, which can be extremely difficult. This book seeks to solve that problem by providing readers with actionable advice on how they can find the right career path and determine their desired lifestyle, while teaching them the financial strategies they'll need to make their path a reality. Because people often ignore or deprioritize their personal finances in favor of other pursuits, the book begins by demonstrating how money affects every other part of our lives and how effective money management can empower readers to find a meaningful career and create a satisfying personal life."

In: American journal of health promotion, Band 36, Heft 6, S. 1025-1028
ISSN: 2168-6602
Purpose To determine whether social media use, alcohol consumption, and sociodemographic factors predicted Americans' knowledge about alcohol-related cancer risk. Design Health Information National Trends Survey (2020). Setting United States. Subjects A nationally representative sample ( N = 3865; response rate = 36.7%). Measures Knowledge about cancer risk of beer, wine, and liquor; social media use; demographics; smoking status; alcohol consumption; and cancer history. Analysis Data were analyzed using multinomial multiple logistic regression with jackknife replicate weights. Results Less than a third of U.S. adults (20.34-31.20%) were aware of cancer risk of alcohol. People who watched health-related YouTube videos were more likely to be well-informed (odds ratio [OR] = 1.55 [95% confidence interval 1.01, 2.36] for beer) and misinformed (OR = 1.68 [1.17, 2.43] for wine). Alcohol consumption predicted higher likelihoods of being misinformed about cancer risk of beer (OR = 1.03 [1.003, 1.05]). People who were older and had less education were less likely to be well-informed for all types of alcohol. Females (for liquor) and Blacks (for beer) were less likely to be well-informed and misinformed. Conclusion Social media can be a source of both correct information and misinformation about alcohol and cancer risk. Health promotion should target older adults, people with less education, racial minorities, females, and people who consume alcohol.

Russian "Pivot to the East" Strategy: Opportunities and Challenges for Coupling with Chinese Transregional Projectsy ; Стратегия России «Поворот на Восток»: возможности и вызовы для сопряжения с китайскими трансрегиональными проектами
Ukrainian Crisis of 2014 is crucial for Russian pivot to the East which is considered to be a tool for tackling economic challenges and avoiding diplomatic isolation. Economically, this pivot implies cooperation with AsiaPacific region in trade and energy. Politically, it means closer ties with the states of that region. At the same time, the success of the strategy hinges on the state of affairs in energy and on promoting to Asian markets specifi c goods that turns out to be a constraint for diversifi cation of the Russian economy. Moreover, culturally and social Russia is much closer to Europe than Asia, and that is one more obstacle to "Pivot to the East" strategy realization. However, transregional projects of the recent years, including Chinese initiative "One Belt – One Road" and Russian "Pivot to the East" might be key to enhance the strategic potential of Russia-China cooperation which meets Chinese national interests.

In: Evaluation review: a journal of applied social research, Band 28, Heft 2, S. 104-122
ISSN: 1552-3926
In this study, the authors introduced a multivariate multilevel model to estimate the consistency among students and schools in the rates of growth between mathematics and science achievement during the entire middle and high school years with data from the Longitudinal Study of American Youth (LSAY). There was no evident consistency in the rates of growth between mathematics and science achievement among students, and this inconsistency was not much influenced by student characteristics and school characteristics. However, there was evident consistency in the average rates of growth between mathematics and science achievement among schools, and this consistency was influenced by student characteristics and school characteristics. Major school-level variables associated with parental involvement did not show any significant impacts on consistency among either students or schools. Results call for educational policies that promote collaboration between mathematics and science departments or teachers.
