Para além da escola, do discurso político e dos produtos culturais, os média têm um papel central no processo de aprendizagem dos jovens e na (re)construção de representações recíprocas. A televisão, os média sociais e o cinema são centrais na difusão e reificação de determinadas representações sociais. Neste artigo, exploramos a narrativa do filme Ilha da Cova da Moura de Rui Simões (2010), cruzando os testemunhos das personagens com os resultados da entrevista ao realizador. Este filme explora três temas centrais: (a) a importância do associativismo e da mobilização coletiva no bairro; (b) a ideia de pertença e a agência na comunidade; e (c) o preconceito e discriminação racial vivenciados por habitantes do bairro. A intenção do realizador com este filme é desconstruir os estereótipos associados ao bairro. Argumentamos que este e outros filmes podem constituir instrumentos importantes para uma literacia mediática multidimensional e multicultural. Importa criar espaços, ao longo do processo educativo de crianças e jovens, nos quais os lugares comuns do racismo possam ser discutidos e contestados. It has been generally accepted that there has been an extensive sharing of responsibility between the state and non-profit organisations (NPOs) in order to accomplish public purposes. As a result, the relationship between both sectors, and the degree of dependency of NPOs on the state for resources has been acknowledged as a critical issue within social and public policy debates. However, the intensity of this debate has not been matched by a search for empirical evidence, which might assist in assessing the nature and extent of this dependency as well as the implications, either for the non-profit sector or the state. Therefore, this paper seeks to address this gap in the literature by providing empirical evaluation of the nature and scope of non-profit organisations dependency on the state for resources regarding the Portuguese case. In the context of an extensive sharing of responsibility between governmental and non-profit organisations to accomplish social policy actions, the relationship between state and the nonprofit organisations and the degree of dependence of these organisations in relation to the state has been acknowledged as a critical issue within social and public policy. However, the hallmark of much research related with non-profit/statutory relations has derived mainly from the widely recognition of non-profit s increased income from statutory sources (Salamon and Anheier, 1996). As a result, non-profit s dependency on the state has been captured essentially by assessing financial dependency. PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to analyse the antecedents and consequences of online satisfaction within the context of e‐government, which increasingly play an important role in modern public administrative management. Specifically, this paper examines the taxation services offered through the web‐based electronic declaration system.Design/methodology/approachFollowing a quantitative methodological approach, a survey was applied to a sample of 351 certified accountants to empirically test the conceptual model. Structural equation modelling was used to test the conceptual model.FindingsThe results of this empirical study validate four out of five hypotheses. It was found that convenience is an important antecedent of both satisfaction and online service quality. Additionally, findings suggest that both the degree of satisfaction and online service quality impacts on the intention of using the taxation website. Overall, results indicate that most of the relationships examined in the private service sector can be extended to the e‐government context.Practical implicationsThis paper offers the opportunity to rethink how the Portuguese Department of Taxation web site provides online services and how it satisfies the needs of users while complying with their fiscal obligations.Originality/valueDespite the entrenched nature of governmental bureaucracy which slows down the adoption of the Internet, market pressures toward fulfilling users' needs has become an increasingly important requirement. This study revealed that the proposed research model, which derives from the private sector, is relevant to the public services context.

The "Identity Narratives and Social Memory" research project aimed at analysing the (re)making of "Lusophone" identity in cyberspace and how blogs contribute to a transnational cultural memory. This research program was structured according to four methodological axes: the analysis of virtual narratives in the cyberspace (mapping of the cyberspace in eight Portuguese-speaking countries and doing in-depth analysis of fifteen case studies); the analysis of oral narratives of people with experiences of migration in more than one Lusophone country, using auto-biographical semi-structured interviews; the review of the negotiations of identity in cross-cultural contexts using focus groups; and finally the analysis of social representations of history through a transnational survey.
