In der öffentlichen Diskussion gewinnt das Phänomen Land Grabbing immer mehr an Bedeutung. Eine deutliche Zunahme der Käufe und Verpachtungen von großen Flächen an Ackerland in den Ländern Subsahara-Afrikas, Asiens und Südamerikas an ausländische Investoren hat erhebliche soziale, ökonomische und politische Änderungen in den Zielstaaten verursacht. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, zu einem tieferen Verständnis des Problems Land Grabbing beizutragen, sowie seine vielfältigen Konsequenzen zu hinterfragen. Um dieses Problem mehrdimensional beobachten, analysieren und beurteilen zu können, wird der Capability Approach von Nobelpreisträger Amartya Sen bzw. Martha Nussbaum als analytisches Werkzeug benutzt. Sen versucht eine Alternative zu einer Ökonomie aufzuzeigen, die nur die Wohlfahrt und das Wachstum als einzige Maßstäbe für die Entwicklung betrachtet. Der Capability Approach beinhaltet auch die Kategorien der individuellen Entwicklung und der Gerechtigkeit. Dieser Ansatz wird als ein "framework of thought" und nicht als eine geschlossene Theorie konzipiert. Aus diesem Grund ist ein weiteres Ziel dieser Arbeit die Anwendungsmöglichkeit des Ansatzes auf Land Grabbing zu erforschen. Es wird gezeigt, inwieweit der Capability Approach als Beurteilungsinstrument auf Land Grabbing angewendet werden kann. Es wird ebenfalls gezeigt, dass Land Grabbing die Vertreibung der Lokalbevölkerung, den Verlust der Existenzgrundlage und die Zerstörung der natürlichen Ressourcen, usw. bewirkt. Gemäß dem Capability Approach ist eine der wichtigsten Auswirkung von Land Grabbing eine langfristige Unmöglichkeit, das Individuum oder die von Land Grabbing betroffenen Gruppen und ihre Fähigkeiten zu affirmieren. Diese Konsequenzen von Land Grabbing für die lokale Bevölkerung zeigen, dass eine Änderung der Umstände notwendig ist, sowie dass die Prinzipien des Capability Approach und Human Development als Leitfaden für die Veränderung der aktuellen Lage geeignet sind. ; For the long time the phenomenon Land Grabbing has gained immense importance in the public discussions. A significant increase in purchase and lease of large areas of fertile land in countries of Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and South America by foreign investors has caused substantial social, economic, and political changes in these target countries. The goal of this work is to enhance understanding of the Land Grabbing problem as well as to investigate its deep consequences. The Capability Approach, written by Amartya Sen, Nobel laureate in Economic Sciences, and Martha Nussbaum, is used as a foundation and analytical tool to observe, analyze and evaluate the problem Land Grabbing, from a multidimensional perspective. Sen tried to give an alternative method how to measure a development in addition to the economic growth and welfare. Capability approach also contains categories of individual development and justice. This approach is envisioned as an open "framework of thought" not a traditional closed theory. Therefore, the additional objective of this work is to examine the application of the Capability Approach on Land Grabbing. This work will reveal the extent of the applicability of Capability Approach as a valid method in assessing Land Grabbing problem. It will also demonstrate that Land Grabbing causes the eviction of local population, the loss of livelihood, destruction of natural resources, etc. According to the Capability Approach, one of the most important impacts of Land Grabbing is to abbreviate the possibility to affirm an individual or groups affected by Land Grabbing and their capabilities.
