The basic goal of this research was to examine which aspects of work motivation and perfectionism predict workaholism, in order to identify potential risk factors. Workaholism is defined as an internal need to work excessively that damages our health and psychosocial well-being, leading to long-term exhaustion and work inefficacy. Intrinsic motivation stems from the feeling of satisfaction inherent in doing work-related tasks and using our professional competencies, whereas extrinsic motivation stems from external rewards, a satisfaction of our other needs through work. The basis of neurotic perfectionism lies in the constant discrepancy between the goals person has set and what is achieved, which can lead to chronic dissatisfaction. The following instruments were used: The almost Perfect Scale, the Work extrinsic and intrinsic motivation scale, and Bergen Work Addiction Scale. The sample consisted of 109 participants, workers from the Republika Srpska area, aged 21 to 55. Most of the sample consisted of female participants (75.24%). The results of Kolmogorov-Smirnoff tests show that participants' scores on all examined variables are distributed normally. The fact that workaholism is moderately present in our sample is opposite from original expectations and highlights the need to further examine the prevalence of this phenomenon in the general working population. The predictive model as a whole is statistically significant (F(5,103)=5.01,p<0.00) and predicts 16% of workaholism variance. However, only perfectionism component discrepancy was a significant and positive predictor of workaholism, but not intrinsic or extrinsic work motivation.
The results suggest that workaholism can originate from the efforts of perfectionistic persons to overcome their perceived failures in achieving their unrealistically high goals. It is possible that, through time, obsessive work becomes a means to avoid dealing with negative emotions towards themselves, and also as a way to excuse themselves from real or irrational failures ("I did not achieve my goal, but I worked really hard and I will keep trying"). Of course, in the long run, excessive perfectionism combined with workaholism leads to utter exhaustion and further deterioration of work performance. In order to cope with the constant rise of negative feelings a person tries to work even harder and to achieve increasingly unrealistic goals, leading to a downward spiral of self-destruction. The implications of this research are that in order to treat workaholism it may be necessary to question the structure of unattainable goals that a person sets and the underlying feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt, and self-loathing that may play an important role in perpetuating maladaptive behavior of a typical workaholic. Workaholism must be studied as a part of wider personality structure and dynamic, as it serves an important (and maladaptive) role in defense against unwanted feelings and ideas of lesser worth, failure, etc.

Predmet rada je analiza pismene forme arbitražnog sporazuma u savremenom uporednom i međunarodnom pravu. Opravdana očekivanja privrednih subjekata u pravnom prometu, kao i pojava savremenih sredstava komunikacije dovele su do različitih inicijativa na polju uređivanja forme sporazuma o arbitraži, od čega se u pogledu korektivnih tehnika uočava prezumpcija ispunjenja pismene forme u slučajevima kada se, po tradicionalnom određenju pismene forme, ne bi uzelo da ona postoji. Jedan od načina izbegavanja pravila o strogoj pismenoj formi jeste pretpostavka postojanja sporazuma o arbitraži u slučaju prekluzije prava na isticanje prigovora nenadležnosti arbitražnog suda. Od naročitog značaja je i tehnika zaključenja sporazuma o arbitraži upućivanjem, pozivanjem na drugi pravni akt ili opšte uslove koji u sebi sadrže i arbitražnu klauzulu, pa se u teoriji postavilo i pitanje da li upućivanje treba da bude izričito, ili da se iz njegove sadržine može naslutiti da je cilj upućivanja da se zaključi arbitražni sporazum. Rad se bavi analizom ovih pitanja i preispitivanjem funkcije forme arbitražnog sporazuma u poređenju sa tradicionalnim funkcijama forme kod ugovora građanskog prava, imajući u vidu njegove specifičnosti, pri čemu se kao primarna funkcija forme navodi funkcija obezbeđivanja pouzdanog dokaza o postojanju i sadržini sporazuma o arbitraži.

As the use of herbal medicinal products is constantly growing, their safety became an important public health issue. In spite of common belief that herbal medicinal products are safe and harmless because they are natural, it is not always so and their usage is not devoid of certain risks. The most common reasons for herbal adverse reactions (ADRs) are: improper use (overdose or prolonged use), interactions with conventional drugs and poor quality of herbal products. In this work were discussed the most important issues on their safe usage. Classification of herbal medicinal products (herbal medicine, traditional herbal medicine) and basic informations on their registration and marketing authorization according to current European and Serbian legislation were also given. Manufacturing of quality herbal medicinal products is highlighted as one of the most important requirements for their safety. Having in mind that most of these products are sold without prescription (OTC) and that they are mostly used in self-medication, the role of health professionals in consulting patients on choosing of herbal medicinal product and its usage was emphasized. The importance of patient's collaboration with health professionals on recognizing and monitoring herbal ADRs and avoiding possible interactions was also pointed out. Examples of the most frequent herbal medicinal products ADRs occurring in course of their recommended and improper use, on their interactions with drugs as well as on their poor quality were given. The importance of involving herbal medicinal products in international pharmacovigilance systems was also explained.

This paper focuses on language policy and social changes which have taken place in Croatia during and since the 1991-5 war. I first describe the historical background, the war and the nineties being marked by excesses of linguistic purism and prescriptivism, alongside the formation of post-Yugoslav states in which national belonging was key to defining citizenship. ! rough examining the relationship between changing linguistic and social orders, I raise a number of issues for discussion. I argue that the legal framework of minority language rights has consolidated and legitimated a nationalist imaginary, increasing social divisions and reinforcing hierarchies asserted by some nationalists between national categories. For this reason, I suggest that the uncritical endorsement of or promotion of linguistic diversity can be dangerous. Second, in an activist-anthropological vein, I discuss possible reasons why academics trained in the social sciences and humanities have rarely participated in sociolinguistic debates concerning the new Croatian standard. I suggest such discussions could greatly benefit from interventions by social scientists, so as to bring sociolinguistics into contact with other strands of the social sciences and humanities and move away from what I believe to be a problematic policy focus on "identity".

Ovaj se rad bavi jezičnom politikom i društvenim promjenama koje su se dogodile u Hrvatskoj za vrijeme i nakon rata koji je trajao od 1991. do 1995. godine. Počinjem opisom povijesne pozadine, rata i devedesetih godina 20. stoljeća, koje je obilježila velika količina jezičnog purizma i preskriptivizma u Hrvatskoj te stvaranje postjugoslavenskih država u kojima je pripadanje naciji predstavljalo ključ za definiranje državljanstva. Istraživanjem odnosa između promjena u jezičnom i društvenom poretku, problematiziram više tema. Tvrdim da je zakonski okvir prava manjinskog jezika osnažio i legitimizirao nacionalistički imaginarij, stvarajući daljnje društvene podjele i učvršćujući hijerarhije koje među nacionalnim kategorijama promoviraju određeni nacionalisti. Iz tog razloga, tvrdim da nekritičko odobravanje ili promoviranje lingvističke različitosti mogu biti opasni. Nadalje, u aktivističko-antropološkom smislu, razlažem moguće razloge zbog kojih su znanstvenici društvenih i humanističkih znanosti rijetko sudjelovali u sociolingvističkim raspravama koje se tiču novog hrvatskog standardnog jezika. Tvrdim da bi takvim raspravama u znatnoj mjeri doprinijelo sudjelovanje znanstvenika humanističkih i društvenih znanosti, jer bi se stvorila veza između sociolingvistike i ostalih grana humanističkih i društvenih znanosti te bi se tako odmaknuli od, prema mojem sudu problematične, politike usredotočene na "identitet". ; This paper focuses on language policy and social changes which have taken place in Croatia during and since the 1991-5 war.
