Migration is a crucial topic for athletic career development. Despite the challenges and issues that sport migrants face, little is known about Brazilian context. On Pierre Bourdieu's sociological approach, this study aims to analyze the Brazilian men elite futsal players' job conditions and their influence on athletes' dispositions for labor sport migration. On quali–quantitative approach, interviews with 28 Brazilian men elite futsal players were thematically analyzed and quantitative data on clubs' rosters from the Brazilian National Futsal League were collected. We concluded the following aspects: (a) players' migrant disposition is a consequence of unfavorable labor conditions; (b) remaining in the same city for long period is a privilege; (c) players and relatives are submitted to constant habitus transformation because of repeated mobility and adaptations to different networks in each new city/club.

Research on sport migration spans many disciplines and strands of inquiry, with some studies seeking to analyse the academic outputs. However, these studies sometimes are focused on certain specific contexts or offer only qualitative analysis. This present study aimed to analyse the literature on sport migration. Through a systematic review, we combined data from the articles to propose a classification of the sport migration research field. The results show that research in sport migration have focused on athletes who are mostly men, working in elite sports, and with attention to more globally practiced sports, such as football. Regarding migratory flows, they are often carried out from peripheral countries to central countries. Considering all advances in academic output on sport migration, this line of research needs to broaden, observing other dynamics involved, such as other migratory routes, groups of migrants, and social agents.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi compreender alguns elementos das atividades de lazer na sociedade brasileira durante o período militar (1964 a 1984), destacando a influência da censura, a repressão política e o crescimento econômico nestas atividades. O principal objetivo foi ilustrar a relação entre estas atividades de lazer (atividade física, desporto, televisão, cinema, teatro) e a realidade brasileira política e econômica daquele momento. Com base na análise proposta, pode-se concluir que durante o período analisado, as práticas de lazer estudadas foram censuradas e gerenciadas a partir de um amplo projeto nacional que mudou profundamente o país dando a base para atividades de lazer de massa. ; The aim of this paper is to understand some elements of leisure activities in Brazilian society during the military period (1964 to 1984), highlighting the influence of censorship, political repression and economic growth in these activities. The main objective is to illustrate the relationship between these leisure activities (physical activity, sport, film, television, theater) and the Brazilian political and economic reality of that moment. Based on the analysis proposed, it can be concluded that during the period analyzed, the leisure practices studied were censured and managed from a broad national project that has profoundly changed the country giving the basis for mass leisure activities.

Migration experiences are common for athletes, especially in team sports. Moving from home to a recruiting sport club has become an indispensable career investment. This is also the case in Brazilian futsal, where many developing players move to more promising clubs within the country. This process is often challenging, but little researched. The purpose of this article is to investigate 13 Brazilian men elite futsal players' intra-national migration experiences during their youth. We aim to: provide insight into what factors allowed players to invest in a futsal career through migration; demonstrate the challenges young players faced during their migration; and describe how they adapted to the futsal context they had moved to. We use a Bourdieusian framework to examine young futsal players' disposition to intra-national migration and the influence of capitals on their integration in the receiving places. A thematic analysis allowed us to identify that: Players' disposition to migration was shaped by their families' habitus and illusio related to futsal; some of the reported issues could have been avoided if clubs had provided more efficient support to young migrant athletes; and families and networks (social capital) were key for players being able to adapt to the new futsal context.
