To face the profound economic, social, political and cultural changes that are taking place worldwide, social responsibility is required. Acting responsibly from social commitment means acting autonomously, making decisions and being protagonists of the actions we undertake to achieve prosperous changes for society. The main objective of this research study is to know and analyze the impact of the University Service-Learning on the social responsibility of Physical Activity and Sports students. The research study has been developed following an interpretive-critical perspective with an intrinsic case study research design. The participants and main protagonists of this research are 145 students of the Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and the Degree in Primary Education Teacher with a mention in Physical Education from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Different techniques and instruments were used to collect the information: group interviews, focus groups, reflective questionnaires and the student portfolio. It is concluded that the experiences of University Service-Learning in Physical Activity and Sports seem to have a vital and coherent meaning with initial training and social progress, being considerably appropriate to train responsible citizens capable of generating social changes and favoring the inclusion of vulnerable social groups. ; Para afrontar los profundos cambios económicos, sociales, políticos y culturales que se están produciendo a nivel mundial requiere tomar conciencia y ser crítico ante los efectos sobre la sociedad. Los participantes y principales protagonistas de esta investigación son 145 estudiantes del Grado en Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte y del Grado en Maestro/a en Educación Primaria con mención en Educación Física de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Se emplearon distintas técnicas e instrumentos para la recogida de la información: entrevistas grupales en profundidad, grupos focales, cuestionarios reflexivos y portafolio del alumnado. Se concluye que las experiencias de Aprendizaje-Servicio Universitario en Actividad Física y Deporte tienen impacto sobre el compromiso social del alumnado durante su formación inicial, formar ciudadanos responsables, capaces de generar cambios sociales y favorecer la inclusión de colectivos sociales vulnerados.

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to know the contribution of service-learning (SL) on the awareness-raising and sensitivity with regards to sustainable development goals (SDGs) in physical education teacher education (PETE) programs.


Design/methodology/approach
The research used a qualitative methodology with a case study design from an ethnographic-interpretative approach. The participants were 81 higher education level students from the PETE program. For the collection of information, the following techniques and instruments were used: non-participant observation, students' portfolios, focus groups and group-interviews.


Findings
The main findings show the teaching positive features of SL experiences in the PETE students. In alignment with the sustainable development model, the findings suggest that SL can boost and strengthen knowledge, comprehension, sensitivity and compromise in relation to the SDGs. It can be concluded that SL allows teacher educators to train socially critical professionals and to progress toward a sustainable development.


Originality/value
SL emerges as an appropriate pedagogical model to meet the educational needs of higher education and to face global challenges in relation to the sustainable development of the planet.

Este trabajo recoge la visión de la evaluación que posee el profesorado de la Red y los resultados globales de las experiencias de innovación sobre evaluación formativa y compartida realizadas en el curso 2007-2008. Además de una evaluación formativa, basada en la mejoras de los procesos de aprendizaje y enseñanza, se postula una evaluación 'compartida'. La evaluación compartida considera a los agentes de estos procesos anteriores, incorporando al valor formativo un elemento democratizador y ético en nuestro planteamiento de enseñanza. 60 docentes de 22 universidades han participado en la elaboración de un estudio de casos múltiple sobre 80 asignaturas. Se parte de la selección de 6 aspectos clave de la evaluación formativa, sirviendo éstos como referencias para la organización de los resultados de los informes individuales de los profesores. Los informes se estructuraron en 4 apartados: ventajas, inconvenientes, rendimiento académico, y carga de trabajo. Seguidamente, y para mayor claridad, se agrupan los resultados en: conceptos asociados a la evaluación formativa, carácter ético de la evaluación formativa, y viabilidad en la práctica de la evaluación formativa
