Business-owning parents face the decision of whether to involve their own children in the family business. Employing family members for little or no wages is widely documented in the hospitality and tourism industries, though children's role in such businesses is often missing from the literature. This article seeks to address this gap by exploring parental motives for involving children in the family business and the impact of such decisions on parent–child relationships in later life. The article adopts a multi-generational approach, comparing both parent's and children's accounts of adolescent work performed at the family business. The research findings are based on semi-structured interviews with nineteen individuals across five restaurant-owning families. The article concludes that parental motives for adolescent work are a composition of convenience, economic gain and an attempt to educate the next generation. We further argue that adolescent work serves as an 'imprinting' mechanism and demonstrate that children perceive their family business involvement to be a purely economic endeavour when their parents neglect to practise imprinting. The research findings indicate that when this happens, offspring recall their adolescent work experience negatively and it is detrimental to parent–child relationships. The originality of the article stems from the research findings which are based on interviews among adults who recalled their past experiences of adolescent work, thus allowing the longer lasting impact of adolescent work on parent–child relationships to be explored, whereas previous work adopting a similar focus has been conducted among adolescents.

Abstract
The high levels of deviant behaviour within the hospitality sector have been an ongoing concern for many managers and academics, with a clear recognition of the reputational, human and organizational costs of such behaviour. The traditional approach adopted by organizations and Human Resource Managers to counter deviant behaviour in the hospitality industry has focused around unsuccessful education programmes, while other authors offer alternate assessments of the industry's response to deviant behaviour. This conceptual article proposes that both the management and the study of deviant behaviour within the hospitality industry need to be contextualized within a temporal and spatial analysis of an employee's workaday lived experience. Through adopting Durkheim's discussions around time and space it is possible to identify four distinct temporal and spatial categories (the sacred, the mundane, the liminal and the profane); each of these categories can be seen to influence the behaviour of employees in different ways, even though they are part of the same time-space continuum. Thus, this article argues, from a theoretical framework, that to understand and manage deviant behaviour within the hospitality industry, it is important to recognize that each category of time and space needs to be understood both in isolation and as part of a time-space continuum that surrounds the hospitality experience.

Abstract
Building on the work of lifestyle migrant researchers where hospitality and tourism are key drivers for migrants' location decisions, this article considers the complexities of work choices made by lifestyle migrants. Discussion leads to the proposition of linking lifestyle migration, work–life balance and work choices to provide a basis upon which to explore this group of workers and their relationship with work post-migration. To do this the study reflects on semi-structured interviews with 33 UK lifestyle migrants living in the Chamonix Valley, France and working in hospitality and tourism.

Abstract
The majority of children referred to social care services in England go on to receive a statutory assessment by a social worker. Research has identified consistent categories of demand based on the needs identified in assessments. However, little is known about the relationship between children's assessed needs and their subsequent intervention pathways. To explore this relationship, secondary analysis was undertaken of a national administrative data-set including all children who received a social work assessment in England from 2015 to 2020 (n = 3.6 m). Children's characteristics, assessed needs and intervention pathways were compared for each episode of CSC involvement. Regression analysis then explored how the proportion of children receiving different types of provision varied according to their needs as well as intersections of gender, age and ethnicity. The findings showed significant differences across twelve categories of demand, pointing to variation in the assessment and response to similar types of presenting needs. Implications are discussed for the planning and design of services.

The unpredictable Anthropocene poses the challenge of imagining a radically different, equitable and sustainable world. Looking 100 years ahead is not easy, and especially as millennials, it appears quite bleak. This paper is the outcome of a visioning exercise carried out in a 2-day workshop, attended by 33 young early career professionals under the auspices of IPBES. The process used Nature Futures Framework in an adapted visioning method from the Seeds of Good Anthropocene project. Four groups envisioned more desirable future worlds; where humanity has organised itself, the economy, politics and technology, to achieve improved nature-human well-being. The four visions had differing conceptualisations of this future. However, there were interesting commonalities in their leverage points for transformative change, including an emphasis on community, fundamentally different economic systems based on sharing and technological solutions to foster sustainability and human-nature connectedness. Debates included questioning the possibility of maintaining local biocultural diversity with increased connectivity globally and the prominence of technology for sustainability outcomes. These visions are the first step towards a wider galvanisation of youth visions for a brighter future, which is often missing in the arena where it can be taken seriously, to trigger more transformative pathways towards meeting global goals.
