The crisis of the modern world stems mainly from its faulty social organization. The bureaucratic burden does not allow full utilization of the human potential & many resources are wasted due to the lack of organizational imagination. The major contradictions faced by the democratic developed societies of the West are reviewed: unemployment among youth, declining productivity, low trust of institutions, low organizational loyalty, governmental policies badly designed & poorly implemented, etc. There is an obvious need for the more imaginative organizational forms that would mobilize collective energy & reinforce the trust relationships within the task-oriented teams. To this end, a dialectic paradigm for management training is proposed. In Comments Adam Podgorecki (Carleton U, Ottowa, Ontario) & Witold Kiezun (U of Montreal, Quebec) explore characteristics of Western society that support Alexander Matejko's views; Kiezun, however, identifies economic & ideological improvements in the US. In Rejoinder Matejko disputes Kiezun's contention of US improvements. Modified AA
