Empirical Dimensions of Discrimination against Disabled People
In: Health and human rights, Band 1, Heft 2, S. 174-189
ISSN: 1079-0969
Reviews the empirical literature to explore discrimination against disabled persons in education & labor, as well as their vulnerability to physical & sexual abuse. Data demonstrate that disabled persons are disadvantaged in education, less likely to find work that reflects their skills or to find work at all, & suffer high rates of physical & sexual abuse. It is concluded that multiple legal measures must be taken to protect the human rights of disabled persons. 1 Table, 59 References. Adapted from the source document.
