Mittlerweile haben sich die Umstände für eine erfolgreiche Agrarentwicklung, nicht zuletzt durch den Verfall agrarischer Institutionen und die umstrittene Landreform, dramatisch verschlechtert. Der Sammelband, der an ein zehn Jahre zuvor veröffentlichtes Werk anknüpft, rückt die landwirtschaftliche Entwicklung in 33 Beiträgen in historische Perspektive und benennt die Herausforderungen, vor denen die Agrarpolitik steht.
