Tourism is an important economic sector. Understanding people's travel intentions can be useful for planning destinations, meeting demand as well as possible. In this sense, this study aims to assess what would influence the intention to go to the Diamantina Vesperata, in the State of Minas Gerais [Brazil], using the Theory of Planned Behavior for this purpose, with the inclusion of the constructs past behavior and familiarity. The methodology included bibliographic research for questionnaire elaboration, followed by quantitative research with 125 respondents, 101 of which are valid. The results showed relevance in the inclusion of the new constructs, which had a positive effect on the intention to attend the event. On the other hand, the attitude and the subjective norm did not present significant effects on the intention, corroborating with studies that deal with the complexity of the choice of tourist destination and the difficulty of forecasting the intention, as in other more common behaviors.

In: Rosa dos Ventos: revista do Programa de Pós-Graduação Mestrado em Turismo, Universidade de Caxias do Sul, Band 13, Heft 2, S. 409-433
ISSN: 2178-9061
The purpose of this article is to understand how hospitality is portrayed in films produced with the support of a program developed by the government in the State of Minas Gerais [Brazil]. The methodology of this qualitative research included a bibliographic study and content analysis of eight films. The results showed the complexity of interpersonal relationships in hospitality. The evaluative aspect that permeates hospitality can occur in different environments, establishing new practices and rituals during the process of receiving-hosting. Domestic hospitality predominates in the films analyzed and it is women who assume the role of hostesses. Another relevant result refers to socially marginalized contexts, in which reception can take place on the doorstep itself. It is concluded that the audiovisual productions analyzed portray several nuances of the hospitality phenomenon present in the Brazilian social imagination.

; This article aims at reflecting briefly on the debates between opinion and information as posited in the weeklies Acción, Marcha and Ercilla during the 1930s and 1940s. Within a clearly political dimension, the three weeklies promoted significant intellectual, political and cultural discussion among authors who defended the inclusion of different interpretations, but disagreed on how the news or texts should be presented to readers. Information or commentary: how to establish a dialogue with the public? To lead opinion or to appear as neutral in the public life debate?
