A space with which is associated a non-symmetric fundamental tensor gij has been termed «a generalised Riemannian space » by Eisenhart (1951). The object of this paper is to study the subspaces of a generalised Riemannian space.

Kanwal established two linear relations between vorticity and current density generated behind shock waves in two dimensional stationary flows of conducting gases. He also showed that vorticity generated by a shock in conducting gases is no longer derivable purely from dynamical relations as in non-conducting gases. The object of the present paper is to generalize Kanwal's result to pseudo-stationary case by employing an easier and shorter technique for investigating two linear relations between vorticity and current density generated behind a pseudo-stationary magneto-gas dynamic shock wave in plane flows.
