50 years ago, on November 22, 1963, the shocking news came to the world that the President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, had fallen victim to an assassination attempt. Kennedy was on a political promotional tour in Dallas, Texas, along with his vice-president Lyndon B. Johnson, the governor of Texas, John Connaly, and other higher officials of the White House. In the open carriage, the spouse of the leaders went by. In the passage through the business district of Dallas, the deadly shots were fired at Kennedy. The governor Connaly was seriously injured. The author examines all facets of Kreisky's life, beginning with his youth, formation, and affiliation with the Social Democrats before the Holocaust and WWII. Then the article explores Kreisky's life in exile in Sweden, return to Austria after the war, and commencement into political life, first as a diplomat and foreign minister, and then as Chancellor of Austria. Kreisky also worked towards negotiation peace in many areas of the world, including the Middle East, implemented a 'Marshall Plan' for the Third World, and is noted for engaging in the North-South Dialogs.
