Humanitarianism and conflict in a post-Cold War world

Les organisations à but

After a brief look at the history (since 25 BC), the role of Islam, Pax Britannica, ethnic and cultural diversity of the peoples, dominance and hostility between the Persians, the settled Arabs of the Mesopotamian basin, and the pastoral and trading Arabs of the peninsula, the rise of revolutionary Iran, its war with Iraq, Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, its liberation by the Western and other powers among other issues, the author (a former Ambassador of the U.K. to Saudi Arabia) discusses security issues of the Gulf area.
