ABSTRACT: This paper aims to deepen the pacifist, antifascist and gendered point of view of the French section of the World Committee of Women against War and Fascism in relation to the Spanish Civil War. The mobilization of this organism allows not only to have a vision of the imaginary of the civil conflict in France, but also to reflect on the gender roles within the political culture of communist tendency, within an international movement. Thus, we will try to get a deeper understanding of the problem of what could have been the role of French women, antifascists and pacifists, of the Committee in the support to the Spanish Republic. The female/feminist discourse of the Committee will be examined, as well as to what extent the distinction between two spheres of action and the conceptualization of the political tasks of assistance and solidarity is one of the most important characteristics that are reproduced in women's organizations of this type.
