El consumo político o political consumerism es una forma de participación en la que la ciudadanía utiliza el mercado para expresar sus preocupaciones políticas. Realizar la compra de un producto (buycott) o no (boycott) es una decisión personal justificada, basada en valoraciones éticas, medioambientales o políticas que se hacen de los procedimientos realizados por las empresas o los gobiernos. Las nuevas tecnologías y los distintos medios de difusión informativa influyen en el alcance de este tipo de movilización política dada la importancia creciente de las redes sociales transnacionales y las comunidades en línea, las cuales contribuyen a la formación de opinión de la ciudadanía y a su participación en un nuevo espacio "sub-político". De tal forma que interesa tanto el consumidor crítico o consciente que convierte su hábito de compra en hábito político como el contexto a través del que obtiene la información, y los distintos actores -los activistas o movimientos sociales- con los que participa, convirtiendo el mercado en arena pública y objeto de reivindicaciones para la práctica de la democracia. Este artículo por tanto tiene como objetivos: conceptualizar la participación del consumidor desde la perspectiva de las teorías sociológicas de la modernidad, presentar algunas de las metodologías utilizadas para medir y evaluar la influencia de los consumidores políticos y ver en qué medida su empoderamiento ante el mercado podría acercarse a una "consumocracia'' ; Political consumerism is a form of participation in which citizens use the market to express their political concerns. Making the purchase of a product (buycot) or not (boycott) is a justified personal decision based on ethical values, environmental or political concerning the procedures performed by companies or governments. New technologies and different information media affect the scope of this type of political mobilization given the growing importance of transnational social networks and online communities, which contribute to the formation of the public opinion and to the participation in a new "sub-political" space. So we are interested in: a) critical or conscious consumers transforming their purchase habit in political habit, and b) the context through which they obtain the information, and the different actors, activists and social movements with which they participate, transforming the market into a public arena and a subject of claims for the practice of democracy. This article therefore aims to: concepualize consumer involvement from the perspective of sociological theories of modernity, present some of the methodologies used to measure and evaluate the influence of political consumers, and see to what extent their empowerment trough the market might approach a "consumecracy''.

La desigualdad y la marginación que sigue soportando la mujer en la vida pública y en las instancias de decisión están motivadas por el patriarcado. De entre todos los factores que inciden en su perpetuación, en este artículo se analizan aquéllos derivados de la discriminación en el espacio familiar y los generados por la ausencia de una verdadera coeducación. ¿Qué actitudes tiene la juventud hacia un cambio en la construcción de una organización social diferente? Para responder a esto, se han utilizado resultados de un estudio cuantitativo -encuesta a una muestra de mil quinientos jóvenes- y cualitativo -cuatro grupos de discusión- realizado en Asturias. ; The inequality and the marginalization that the woman continues supporting in the public life and in the instances of decision are motivated by the patriarchy. Among all the factors that affect in its perpetuation, in this article we analyzed those that derives from the discrimination in the familiar space and those generated by the absence of a true coeducation. What attitudes the young people have towards a change in the construction of a different social organization? In order to answer this question, several results have been used from a quantitative study -a poll to a sample of 1.500 young people- and also from a qualitative one -with the accomplishment of four groups of discussion- all of them have been carried out in Asturias.

El consumidor consciente es aquel que convierte su hábito de compraen hábito político tanto a través de sus acciones individuales comomediante su participación en movimientos sociales, convirtiendo elmercado en objeto de reivindicaciones para la práctica de lademocracia. Este artículo persigue varios objetivos: analizar quéfactores predicen el comportamiento de los consumidores conscientesy de los consumidores conscientes con trayectoria estable. Además,descubrir si el consumo político se acerca más a acciones decompromiso cívico o a otras formas de participación política. Losresultados indican que el proceso de socialización y la participaciónpolítica aumentan la probabilidad de ser consumidor consciente.

The aim of this paper is to show some empirical evidence on the factors driving social and political participation in the Internet in Spain. Using the well-known resources approach in the literature on social and political participation, our general assumption is that the different types of resources that citizens have (individual resources, group resources.) structure their opportunities to participate social and politically in the Internet. Specifically, we explore the determinants of social and political online involvement through the issuance of opinions, participation in consultations or/and voting on political and civic affairs. The results suggest that the highest participation is among youngsters and surprisingly among unemployed people. It also shows that the gender gap not only arises in offline environment but also online. ; Partimos del supuesto general de que los diferentes recursos con los que cuenta la ciudadanía estructuran sus oportunidades de participación social y política a través de Internet. De este modo, analizamos cuáles son los factores sociodemográficos que influyen en el uso de Internet para realizar determinadas acciones sociales y políticas. En concreto, estudiamos los determinantes de la implicación social y política de los ciudadanos en Internet a través de la emisión de opiniones y de la participación en consultas o votaciones sobre asuntos políticos y cívicos. Los resultados obtenidos sugieren que la mayor participación se da entre los jóvenes y sorprendentemente entre las personas en situación de desempleo.
