Arms control and disarmament
The author tries to assess how arms control and disarmament are both affected by and contribute to wider conditions of international peace and security. He begins with a general assessment of arms control and disarmament with a historical analysis on arms control and disarmament proposals culminating into the roles of superpowers, UN and Africa with specific reference to its adverse effect to social and economic impact to Africa. The second part looks into the sub-regional aspects of arms control and disarmament with recognition to the civil society and the NGOs. The final part briefly touches the issue of international terrorism. (GIGA-Sbd)
