This book serves as an introductory reader for understanding a professional competencies framework through a new approach. It not only discusses what professional competencies are and why they are significant, but it also shows how to develop a professional competencies approach, measure and research competencies, and learn how to use them to empower professional identity and career development. There has been growing interest to define the social work profession within a professional competencies framework. Professional competencies are considered in their complexity as a triangle of knowledge, skills and values. They are not solely a tool for education and practice, but they are also important for professional socialization and identity in social work. A professional competencies approach has been used to define standards and expectations for social workers-practitioners; it is an evaluation tool for formal education and lifelong learning programs, provides guidance for field practice and placements for social work students, and could be a frame for distinguishing levels of professional expertise.

Individual bankruptcy, as a procedure of preferential bankruptcy procedure reserved for natural person, often leads to problems in application, which are a consequence of not understanding theessence of the institute or often bad implementation of application instruments, where all of this then leads to paradoxical inability to apply the institute. This paper will emphasize the basic problems which appear when the subject of the bankruptcy procedure is a natural person. Author will analyze it through the problem of insolvency of individuals and factual inability to realize payment of creditors. It will be analyzed based on the following aspects: this matter is unregulated in Serbian law; then a comparative overview of the issue of the position of an insolvent artisan in Croatian law, and the issue of abuse of rights which are used by the citizens of EU through the institute "bankruptcy tourism". Based on this comparative analysis, the author will try to provide suggestions with the goal of progress of at least partial payment of the creditors by the individual debtor in the bankruptcy process. This Article will provide specific suggestions which the future legislation of Serbia should deal with, and which will be based on the critical overview of the foreseeninstitute of individual bankruptcy in Croatian law, which is not used in practice.

Rad prikazuje istraživanje koje je imalo za cilj utvrditi dostupnost socijalnih prava i usluga za obitelji u općinama u ruralnim područjima Hrvatske. Specifično su postavljena tri problema istraživanja: 1) utvrditi dostupnost određenih socijalna prava i usluga za obitelji, 2) utvrditi postoje li razlike u dostupnosti s obzirom na regionalnu pripadnost i razvojna obilježja općine te 3) utvrditi postoje li razlike u standardima kvalitete socijalnih prava i usluga s obzirom na regionalnu pripadnost općine i razvojna obilježja općine. Podaci su prikupljeni web anketom s predstavnicima 215 općina. Obiteljima su u većoj mjeri dostupna socijalna prava u odnosu na socijalne usluge. U najvećoj mjeri razvijena su prava i usluge koje promovira središnja državna vlast. Općine u panonskoj regiji kao najslabije razvijenoj imaju najviše dostupna socijalna prava, a najmanje dostupne socijalne usluge. Prava i usluge su dostupnije u općinama koje su bliže središtima županija. Što se tiče standarda kvalitete socijalnih prava i usluga, stanovništvo je zadovoljavajuće informirano i uključeno u planiranje, dok je slabije razvijeno korištenje EU fondova i uključenost civilnog društva. ; The paper presents a research on the availability of social rights and services for families in the municipalities in rural areas of Croatia. Specifically, three research questions were raised: 1) to determine the availability of certain social rights and services for families, 2) to determine whether there are differences in accessibility with regard to regional affiliation and developmental characteristics of the municipality, and 3) to determine whether there are differences in the quality standards of social rights and services given the regional affiliation and the developmental characteristics of the municipality. Data were collected through a web survey with representatives of 215 municipalities. Social rights are more available to families than social services. The most available rights and services are those promoted by the central government. Municipalities in the Pannonian region, as the least developed ones, have the most available social rights and the least available social services. Rights and services are more available in municipalities closer to the county centers. As regards the quality standards of social rights and services, the population is sufficiently informed and involved in planning, while the use of EU funds and civil society involvement are less developed.

Social work students are an important segment of the future of the social work profession, therefore investing in their education brings multiple benefits to social work practice. The aim of this paper wasto gain insight into the level of environmental awareness of social work students as well as into their attitudes on green social work. A quantitative research was conducted with 349 participants, among whom there were the students of the bachelor's and master's degree program in social work and the students of the master's degree in social policy and social work. The paper presents the key concepts which are the focus of this research: green social work, environmental awareness and the role of students. The results indicate that students are generally not familiarized with green social work during their studies and that more than half of the students have not heard of the term green social work at all. Environmentally friendly behavior is often present among social work students, but there is room for adopting a more favorable attitude towards water consumption and electronic devices, as well as paper products usage, recycling and the use of long-lasting products. The role of higher education in educating and awareness-raising among students about this issue is becoming a topic of interest for the development of curricula.
