Como muchos pueblos indígenas de la Amazonía, también los yine, de la Amazonía peruana, se adhieren a una cosmología social quese puede llamar perspectivista. Incluye una cantidad de seres intencionales que tienen alma y que en diferentes situaciones pueden transformarse en humanos, o ser vistos como tales. En este mundo de fugacidad, lo que más preocupa a los yine es la ambigüedad epistemológica inherente a la situación: nunca se puede estar completamente seguro de la condición humana de otra persona. En este artículo tratamos de examinar el aspecto de moralidad, aspecto que hasta hoy sigue poco analizado en relación con cosmologías perspectivistas. Lo hacemos a través de la investigación de las causas y consecuencias de la ambigüedad epistemológica encontrada por los yine. En el pensamiento yine, ¿cómo se conceptualiza la categoría del humano? En términos de moralidad, ¿qué diferencia a los otrosseres con subjetividad de los humanos legítimos? ¿Qué consecuencias tiene la situación ambigua en la vida humana yine? Sugerimos que entre los yine se encuentran diferentes humanidades continuas a las demás. Los distintos seres intencionales ocupan diversos puestos en el continuo moral, sin que existan límites fijos entre ellos. Ejemplos de fallos y diferencias morales se encuentran tanto en la interacción humana como en la existente entre humanos y no humanos.

The current issue of Approaching Religion is based on a summer school and conference arranged in Åbo/Turku, Finland, in June 2021, with the theme 'Religion and Cultural Change'. The event was organized jointly by the Polin Institute for Theological Research (Åbo Akademi University), the Centre for the Study of Christian Cultures (University of Turku), and the Donner Institute for Research in Religion and Culture. The aim was to bring together doctoral candidates and researchers from various academic fields who engage with the study of religion, such as theology, religious studies, history, philosophy, the arts, social and political sciences and so forth. This included presentations that engaged with the theme Religion and Cultural Change from both historical and contemporary perspectives, as well as looking to the future where possible. As conference organizers, we wanted to highlight cultural change both as dramatic breaking points in history and as slowly evolving transformations. Hence, the conference theme allowed us to address past, present and emerging trends and trajectories within culture, society and the scholarly community. En los años recientes, hemos presenciado un creciente interés de la academia sobre los pueblos indígenas en aislamiento y contacto inicial, a través de la producción y discusión etnográfica. Asimismo, varios de los Estados que integran la cuenca amazónica también han venido desarrollando políticas para la defensa de sus derechos. El contexto de la pandemia por el COVID-19, además, ha permitido que las sociedades nacionales de estos países vivan, por primera vez, la experiencia de muerte y desestructuración social que han enfrentado los pueblos indígenas de la Amazonía durante siglos y que llevaron a muchos de estos a tomar distancia y decidir aislarse.
