Abstract
The aim of this article is to acknowledge the implications of addressing the visual representation of the body from a critical and realistic discursive perspective. Besides allowing the identification of the mechanisms for the artist's name and work-recognition this perspective has allowed the study of body representation as language and as a common system of meanings, not just giving attention to the forms of connection between the image and speech or written text, but also to the rules, practices and social relations that produced and governed them. Also it has permitted interrogation of and reflection on the relation between two important categories used in the analysis of self-representation, that is, the relation between 'artist's identity' and 'work's identity' in the cases of Helena Almeida and Jorge Molder, whose works are characterized and recognized by the specific use of the artists body figures.

The aim of this article is to demonstrate how body-representations offer an opportunity for its visual interpretation from a biographical point of view, enhancing, on the one hand, the image's own narrative dynamics, and, on the other, the role of the body as a place of incorporation of experiences, as well as, a vehicle mediating the individual interaction with the world. Perspective founded in the works of the artists Helena Almeida and Jorge Molder, who use self-representation as an expression of these incorporated (lived) experiences, constitutes an important discursive construction and structuring of their narrative identity through visual creation, the artists enable the other with moments of sharing knowledge, creativity and subjectivity, contributing also to the construction of the contemporary, cultural and social imagery.

Abstract. Assertiveness has for long been considered an optimal way of expressing oneself while at the same time maintaining and/or enhancing social rewards, leading to the conclusion that it should be promoted as an intra and interpersonal protective factor. Yet, few researchers have tried to provide a comprehensive model on assertiveness that may better sustain why and how to train it. We propose a cognitive model for explaining how assertiveness comes to be enacted and maintained, considering the activation of previous individual schemas, how they influence the processing of social cues, which in turn influence the interactive activation of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral assertive products. The assertive behavior in turn prompts reactions from the interaction partner. This interpersonal exchange will serve to confirm previous schemas and make them more accessible when facing future social events. We further review previous findings on several assumptions involved in this model and propose how these findings can sustain cognitive-behavioral approaches to assertive training, building on the premises that the intrapersonal psychological functioning is manifested in interpersonal observed behaviors. Subsequently, new directions for the study and training of assertiveness based on a social information-processing framework are discussed, also considering the current social challenges and contexts that we, as human beings, must face.

Aims: Stroke represents one of the main causes of mobility and mortality, occurring in three-quarters of the elderly. Rehabilitation aims at improving deficits, function and social integration of patients with stroke sequelae. We characterized an elderly population admitted for post-stroke rehabilitation and evaluated the differences in the functional evolution between elderly and non-elderly patients.Methods: We analyzed retrospectively all the patients suffering a stroke admitted in a Centre of Rehabilitation Medicine between June 1, 2014, and May 31, 2016. Patients were divided into 2 groups: elderly (65 years) and non-elderly (<65 years). The following variables were analyzed: sex, age, days of admission, post-discharge destination and Functional Independence Measure (FIM) at admission and discharge.Results: We analyzed 134 patients with stroke. The majority were elderly with a mean age of 72.07±6.50. 51.3% were men and the number of days of admission was 107.4±59.5 (vs 109.50±55.7 days in the non-elderly group). 86.4% of these patients were discharged home. Comparing FIM mean values at admission and discharge, we found differences between these two groups, the elderly patients having lower FIM values at admission (75.75 vs 82.96 non-elderly; p=0.005) and at discharge (88.93 vs 99.12 non-elderly; p=0.005). There was also some difference in the FIM increase between admission and discharge in these groups. Despite not being statistically significant.Conclusions: Most patients hospitalized were over 65 years old. FIM values at admission of the elderly patients are lower than of the non-elderly, probably because the latter present specific characteristics associated with the ageing process. Although FIM increases were lower in the elderly patients' group, this difference was not significant whereby they appeared to have functionally benefited as much as the non-elderly. Therefore, age on its own does not appear to be a decision criteria for admission.

El período de prácticas es un período de complejidad en la educación superior, pues integra nuevos desafíos que desencadenan un aumento paulatino de la sensación de estrés del estudiante. La satisfacción con el apoyo social se considera un factor de protección y adaptación y, por lo tanto, este estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar la satisfacción con el apoyo social y analizar variables sociodemográficas y académicas de los estudiantes en el contexto de prácticas en formación docente. La muestra contó con 966 pasantes (476 Portugal y 490 Brasil) de 8 instituciones de educación superior. Se aplicó la "Escala de satisfacción con el apoyo social de País Ribeiro (1999). Los resultados muestran que el apoyo social basado en la amistad y la intimidad son los más utilizados y que la población portuguesa está más satisfecha con el apoyo social que los brasileños. La satisfacción con el apoyo social y con los supervisores aumenta la satisfacción con las prácticas.
