Since the end of the 1990s, decolonial studies have engaged in a radical critique on knowledge production in the modern/colonial world-system. In their debates, they draw attention to the colonial bias of knowledge in modern science.
This article intends to understand the various facets of crisis in Mexico. It will look into the economic, political and social areas of the crisis. At the same time, it will analyze the term crisis itself. Moreover, this paper will study Mexico, as a political anomaly compared to Latin America as a region, which has moved forward in creating societal alternatives. Mexico, by contrast, did not create alternatives, but also it kept its economic, political and social model unchanged. ; El presente artículo busca entender las diferentes dimensiones de la crisis en México. Se indaga sobre el sentido económico, político y social de dicha crisis, a la vez que se busca darle un sentido al propio término de crisis. Los autores tratan de encontrar las especificidades de un país como México, en tanto que verdadera anomalía política, en un contexto como el latinoamericano que ha avanzado ya en la construcción de alternativas societales. México, en cambio, no sólo no construye alternativas sino que su modelo económico, político y social, que al parecer no tiene mayor futuro, se ha logrado mantener.
