After months of speculation, three political parties have officially announced their candidates for the 2024 presidential election in Taiwan: the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), the Kuomintang (KMT), and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP).

One main purpose of this contribution is to convey central aspects of current intellectual debate in China. Starting from an understanding of the September 11th attacks as an outflow of frustration & crisis mainly in the Middle East, the article focuses on the crisis of the modern nation-state as a container of violence & on the critical effects of modernization, drawing mainly on the experience of China. Here, as in other large developing countries, future social disruption, eg, by rural-urban migration coupled by failing employment opportunities, might produce considerable risks, even if fairly small minorities are driven into extremist reactions. Der Beitrag beschreibt die chinesische Diskussion zum 11. September 2001 und die Folgen. Betont wird die Herausforderung, die dieses Ereignis für die Supermachtrolle der USA, aber auch für eine auf Nationalstaaten beruhende Weltordnung bedeutet. Gefragt wird nach der Positionierung Chinas im Rahmen eines verbreiteten, binären Denkens in Kategorien wie "Gut" und "Böse". In diesem Zusammenhang müsse sich China auch den eigenen Herausforderungen stellen, die das Ergebnis der "Marktgläubigkeit" bei den Reformen in eigenen Lande der letzten Jahrzehnte seien, etwa die Zunahme der Armut oder die Vernachlässigung der ländlichen Regionen. Die ländlichen und städtischen Probleme von 1986-1988 waren die gesellschaftlichen Hauptursachen des Chaos von 1989, das die "china watchers" bis heute nicht richtig begriffen und analysiert haben. Weiterhin sind die Probleme gravierend, die aus der massenhaften Land-Stadt-Migration resultieren. Der Autor stellt abschließend die kritische Frage, ob China nicht manchen Ländern der Dritten Welt folgt und damit den Weg und das Schicksal von Hunderten von Millionen der ländlichen Bevölkerung wiederholt, die erst landlos,dann arbeitslos und schließlich obdachlos werden. Experimental Econophysics describes the method of controlled human experiments, which is developed by physicists to study some problems in economics or finance, namely, stylized facts, fluctuation phenomena, herd behavior, contrarian behavior, hedge behavior, cooperation, business cycles, partial information, risk management, and stock prediction. Experimental econophysics together with empirical econophysics are two branches of the field of econophysics. The latter one has been extensively discussed in the existing books, while the former one has been seldom touched. In this book, the author will focus on the branch of experimental econophysics. Empirical econophysics is based on the analysis of data in real markets by using some statistical tools borrowed from traditional statistical physics. Differently, inspired by the role of controlled experiments and system modelling (for computer simulations and/or analytical theory) in developing modern physics, experimental econophysics specially relies on controlled human experiments in the laboratory (producing data for analysis) together with agent-based modelling (for computer simulations and/or analytical theory), with an aim at revealing the general cause-effect relationship between specific parameters and emergent properties of real economic/financial markets. This book covers the basic concepts, experimental methods, modelling approaches, and latest progress in the field of experimental econophysics

In both Germany and Taiwan are facing the situation of growing ageing population and low fertility rate, besides, with the weakness of the household structure and the traditional care model has been changed, the comprehensive care system is urgently needed. With the mentioned demographic and social change, the long- term care service is regarded as a social right. It is widely accepted by the sociologists that the individuals and their families have to take responsibility to a regarded personal risk. Germany, as a traditional welfare state, after long- term discussion, in 1994, Germany has enacted Long- term Care Insurance, the quality of the whole care system become completely gradually. To Taiwan, we have already the foundation of National Health Insurance. As like in Germany, the structure is almost settled, however, the details will not the same in Taiwan. Through the multi- insurer system, base on the supervisory position, the government cannot directly intervene the system. The results of the diversification of the insurer not only have its own autonomy but also through the competition among them to improve the quality of care and provide more select opportunity. On the experience of Germany's model will be an important blueprint to Taiwan no matter advantage or shortcoming. It still has a long way to go, nevertheless, we still hope this dissertation could provide some different thinking and useful suggestion to Taiwan.
