Este artigo é resultado da minha pesquisa de mestrado intitulada Os interditos do desejo: um estudo autoetnográfico das emoções nas relações de dominação e submissão entre praticantes de BDSM, em que busquei analisar em perspectiva autoetnográfica e à luz da antropologia das emoções, o modelo relacional presente nas relações BDSM (acrônimo para os pares bondage e disciplina, dominação e submissão, e sadismo e masoquismo) e suas imbricações. Neste artigo, pretendo apresentar o paradoxo de um meio que supõe-se libertário, mas que tem seus processos de subjetivação atravessados por moralidades e questões de gênero situadas em modelos cisheteronormativos.

This research addresses the domain of public art focused on participatory design and co-design, grounded on an integrated perspective of place perceived in its complexity – relating to human, geographical, economic, biophysical, political, historical, cultural and ecological dimensions that widely characterize local life experiences. It is rooted on the connection between labour activities and local natural resources locally revealed. Considering place the primary concept, and its construction around labour, the diverse aspects of place are seen primarily as being connected with labour in that physical place. Three projects developed in South and South-eastern regions of Portugal will be analyzed. In order to create an open model to involve local people to participate in the projects, a practice-based research was experimented using an emphatic approach anchored on models of listening and dialoguing. This work begins with the three projects description, namely Paths of Salt, Artistic Interactions with Cacela Velha and Creative Practices around the Production of Cork. This is followed by the concepts of cultural and social dimensions of sustainability which are crucial for the sustainable community development. Finally, the three projects will be examined through the emphatic approach of listening and dialoguing as strategies of improving knowledge and people's quality of life in its relation with the environment.

Applying a political economy lens, this article examines the impact of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), within a political context marked by crisis and austerity. Taking the case of Portugal, a country that faced a financial crisis and underwent an austerity plan, the article seeks to understand the impact of the CRPD at domestic level. What has changed, what has remained the same and what has deteriorated? And how has the disability movement responded and resisted to the crisis? This article addresses these questions and discusses the challenges of implementing disability rights in times of 'enduring' austerity.

Este artigo tem como objetivo explorar as relações mercantis entre a província de Minas Gerais e o Rio de Janeiro, através do estudo da rede de negócios que ligou a comarca do Rio das Mortes à capital do Império. Para tanto, recorremos ao caso do fazendeiro mineiro Gervásio Pereira Alvim e seus contatos firmados na praça carioca e em outras praças da província de Minas Gerais, na segunda metade do século XIX.

A escravidão no Sul de Minas Gerais concentrou-se nas atividades para o mercado interno, muitas vezes destinadas à província do Rio de Janeiro. Aiuruoca consistia num elo dessa rede de abastecimento regional. Essas atividades empregavam grandes contingentes de cativos, mas pouco se conhece da escravidão do município. O objetivo consiste em compreender o perfil dos cativos e de sua propriedade, bem como analisar algumas trajetórias na luta pela liberdade nas últimas décadas da escravidão em Aiuruoca. Lançamos mão de diferentes fontes primárias algumas das quais inéditas: o censo de 1872, as listas de matrícula apensadas aos inventários e as listas de classificação dos escravos de 1874 a 1880. Para melhor entender o perfil da população escravizada na década de 1870 utilizamos de forma comparativa as listas nominativas de 1830.

Abstract
This study quantified Erasmus students' motivations for studying abroad. Surveys were completed by 120 Erasmus students at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and their motivations for studying abroad were analysed via factor analysis. A two-step cluster analysis was used to segment students' behaviour based on their motivations. Four factors were obtained: individual development, destination choice facilitators, academic aspects and the destination's strong points. Behaviour was not uniform, and two different segments were found. In the first, which we refer to as "without perceived motivations", no motivation was positively rated, while in the second, "with perceived motivations", academics were a key motivating factor. Universities should consider working with the tourism sector to offer activities related to local culture. They could also organise classes outside of school hours to help Erasmus students learn Spanish.

AbstractBackgroundIn 2009, Portugal ratified the UN CRPD and a turn to a rights‐based approach in disability law and policy has intensified since. It thus becomes important to understand whether these legal changes are furthering the social inclusion of adults with intellectual and complex disabilities.MethodQuestionnaires were applied to a stratified sample of 127 adults with intellectual and complex disabilities attending social care and vocational training programmes across the country.ResultsParticipants reported low rates of social participation, and many (49%) were found to live below the poverty line. High rates of discrimination and violence and feelings of loneliness and sadness were also reported, which can be strong indicators of the oppression that many of them daily endure.ConclusionAdults with intellectual and complex disabilities in Portugal face exclusion, discrimination, and violence. The poverty and isolation in which many of them live compounds their (de)citizenship status in Portuguese society.
