Prezentowany artykuł poświęcony jest swoistej analizie zmian, jakie zachodziły w postrzeganiu statusu kobiet w Afganistanie. Państwo to, współcześnie nazywane także Islamskim Emiratem Afganistanu, jest obszarem na terenie którego poziom nierówności i dyskryminacji płciowej należy do jednych z najwyższych na świecie. Początków afgańskiej państwowości należy upatrywać już w XVIII wieku. Na przestrzeni lat lokalna społeczność stawała w obliczu licznych konfliktów zbrojnych, których podłoża należy szukać zarówno w interwencjach państw trzecich, jak i problemach wewnętrznych. Wśród nich wymienić można chociażby konflikty etniczne, czy też skrajny ekstremizm religijny.Pierwsza część artykułu zawiera analizę pozycji kobiet w świetle islamu oraz tradycji bliskowschodnich. Autorka wskazuje przy tym na dwa główne determinanty, które w sposób realny oraz znaczący oddziałują na zakres przyznawanych jednostce praw. Zalicza do nich kolejno: religię – jako czynnik kształtujący mentalność poszczególnych grup, jak również patriarchalny model społeczeństwa, determinowany przez sferę fizyczną, psychiczną, a także duchową człowieka.W drugiej części autorka opisuje zmiany społeczno-kulturowe, jakie zaszły w 2021 roku, tj. po ponownym przejęciu władzy przez Talibów. Odwołuje się przy tym do ustaw oraz rozporządzeń, jakie zostały wprowadzone w Islamskim Emiracie Arabskim.Trzecia część zawiera odniesienia do założeń prawa międzynarodowego oraz wszelkich innych aktów, obejmujących swą tematyką problematykę dyskryminacji kobiet oraz pozostałych grup defaworyzowanych w świetle prawa krajowego. Celem lepszego objaśnienia danego zagadnienia, przedstawiona zostaje także definicja terminu "dyskryminacja".W ostatniej części pracy autorka zawarła charakterystykę aktualnej pozycji kobiet w Afganistanie, przedstawiając przy tym swoje spostrzeżenia na temat dynamiki zmian zachodzących w mentalności tamtejszej społeczności.

Both the smart city and U-city concepts were created as a response to the challenges related to the increasing level of urbanization and the further development of the latest technologies. These so-called smart cities are designed to use information and communication technologies (ICTs) to improve operational efficiency, make information available to the public, provide better government services and increase the overall level of well-being of citizens. In this article the author will analyze the development of the "smart city" concept, and then present her conclusions and observations based on the example of the South Korean city of Songdo, which is currently one of the most progressive business centers of the ubiquitous city type. Subsequently she will answer two main research questions: 1. What distinguishes a ubiquitous city from a standard smart city project? 2. What are the obstacles, challenges, and incentives for further development in the implementation of the above concept in South Korea? Two main research methods will be used in the article – a comparative method, helpful in identifying visible links between similar phenomena and entities, and a content analysis method, based on a literature review on the topics covered in the work, including issues related to the city of Songdo.

The aim of the article is to show the relations between Turkey and the EU in the era of the migration crisis. The author focuses on the presentation of subsequent stages of cooperation between the above-mentioned parties and presents the process of concluding individual contracts. Despite numerous criticisms, mainly from the European side, cooperation between entities is continued. Thanks to the agreement signed in 2016, Turkey is continuing its efforts to provide unprecedented humanitarian assistance and support to more than 3.5 million refugees from Syria and about 365,000 refugees from other countries. At the moment, the political rank of the Turkey-EU talks has been reduced to the level of European commissioners and Turkish ministers. Turkey, mainly due to its geopolitical situation, now appears as an indispensable partner, which alone can effectively minimize the threats posed by the migration crisis. ; Celem artykułu jest ukazanie relacji pomiędzy Turcją i UE w dobie kryzysu migracyjnego. Autor skupia się na prezentacji poszczególnych etapów współpracy pomiędzy wyżej wymienionymi stronami oraz przedstawia proces zawierania poszczególnych umów. Pomimo licznych głosów krytyki, kierowanych głównie ze strony europejskiej, współpraca pomiędzy podmiotami jest kontynuowana. Dzięki porozumieniu podpisanemu w 2016 roku, Turcja wciąż podtrzymuje swoje wysiłki na rzecz zapewnienia bezprecedensowej pomocy humanitarnej i wsparcia dla ponad 3,5 mln uchodźców z Syrii oraz około 365 000 uchodźców z innych krajów. Na chwilę obecną ranga polityczna rozmów na linii Turcja–UE została obniżona do poziomu europejskich komisarzy i tureckich ministrów (Chudziak, Strachota, 2016, s. 5). Turcja, głównie dzięki swojemu położeniu geopolitycznemu, jawi się obecnie jako strategiczny partner, który jako jedyny może efektywnie zminimalizować zagrożenia, jakie niesie ze sobą kryzys migracyjny.

The main consequence of rapidly progressing globalization is the strengthening of new, dynamically developing economies. The paper includes the author's reflections on the European Union's strategy for the Indo-Pacific region, which is responsible for 60% of global GDP and 2/3 of global economic growth. As a result, this makes that neighborhood an area of conflicting interests and rivalry between the economically strongest state entities. Despite the relatively late involvement of other foreign players in the region, the European Union is also trying to strengthen its position in this area. On September 16, 2021, the "EU Cooperation Strategy in the Indo-Pacific Region" was established. The author of the paper will try to answer two main research questions: (1) What influences the shape of the European strategy towards the Indo-Pacific region? and (2) What obstacles does the European Union face in the process of shaping its relations with representatives of this region?

Türkiye is dependent on imports of energy resources from abroad, but its current economic strategy is based on the diversification of supply sources, which will make it less susceptible to possible manipulation by suppliers. The government's energy policy focuses on increasing the share of renewable energy resources and domestic energy. Despite the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine, Türkiye has not given up on energy cooperation with Russia, trying to balance between East and West. The main reason was the Covid-19 pandemic, which forced Ankara to intensify economic and energy contacts with Moscow again. The aim of the article is to present the challenges that Türkiye is currently facing in the sphere of energy security. The authors of the article will try to answer the following research questions: What is the primary objective of Ankara's economic strategy? Does Türkiye have alternatives to energy cooperation with Russia? The role of Ankara in the NATO Alliance is crucial as well as its position in the international arena. For this reason the research on Türkiye must be carried out.
