The international trade in the XXI century has been strongly affected by the force of the economic crisis and COVID-19. The changes are evident in the growing importance of international trade to national economies and to domestic groups within those economies, in the closer linkages between trade and other international issues. Different positions of the member states of the World Trade Organization (WTO) especially developed and developing countries and also USA, the European Union and Japan representatives were observed during the Doha Round of trade negotiations under the WTO. The problems of agriculture protection in the developed countries for example in the European Union and USA and also in the developing countries, were becoming a serious obstacle during the negotiations. Despite the undeniable benefits of the multilateral WTO forum for trade liberalization, the rapid increase of North-South bilateral and multilateral Free Trade Areas (FTAs) begs a systematic explanation for why some forums are prioritized relative to others. The main aim of the article is the presentation of emerging trend in international business theory and policy. The article presents the mercantilist tendencies in the international trade policy, the theory of public choice in the foreign trade policy, protectionist pressures in different political systems, the level of protectionist pressures, food producers pressure and conflicts between the tendencies to sustainable international trade liberalization and environmental protection, the increasing importance bilateral agreements in the foreign trade policy, international economy in the time of COVID-19.

In the coming time, the innovative success of customer service will depend on having a data- driven strategy. Automation will play a key role in employee service initiatives. The progress and implementation of robot-based process automation, as well as machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of things (IoT), and the construction of the fifth generation 5G network will be important. Trends such as gamification, Big Data and AI are visible. Thanks to this, the right vision is created, supported by the necessary technical knowledge, to implement solutions that open the gate of undiscovered business potential. Modern technology is also becoming a tool of public surveillance. The aim of the study is to present artificial intelligence and the Internet of things as well as the construction of the fifth generation – 5G networks in the face of innovative challenges resulting from the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this research work, Author focus on the analysis trade cooperation in light of the forces that are currently re-shaping international business. Accordance to the foreign trade policy theory further trade liberalisation and improved framework policies would increase trade and promote growth. It must be emphasized that openess to trade is associated with higher incomes and growth and there are the need for new approaches to trade cooperation. What indicates the importance and innovativeness of the research is the presentation of the new models of the foreign trade policy and trade interests. First of all it must underline that in the new theoretical terms in the demand for trade policy very important is factor specificity. The low specificity of factors means that factor returns are equalized throughout a region's economy. On the other hand some factors are stuck in their present uses; therefore, factor returns are not equalized throughout a region's economy, but are industry specific. The main objective of the research task is to give a comprehensive analysis of current trends in foreign trade theory and policy and in particulary the models of foreign trade policy, trade interests indicated by export orientation and import sensitivity, foreign trade policy in different types of authoritarian regimes, protectionistic pressures in different political system, the level of protectionistic pressures, the variation in the foreign trade policy among states, the liberalisation of China foreign trade policy and their effects, the tendencies to international trade liberalisation and the problem of environmental protection, and the tendencies to bilateralism in the foreign trade policy. It should be stressed that free trade in itself is not responsible for economic growth, but more significant are the determining macroeconomic stability and increasing investment.

Głównym celem zadania badawczego jest wszechstronna analiza aktualnych tendencji w teorii i polityce handlu zagranicznego, a w szczególności modeli polityki handlu zagranicznego, interesów handlowych określanych przez orientację eksportową i wrażliwość importową, polityki handlu zagranicznego w różnych typach reżimów autorytarnych, presji protekcjonistycznych w różnych systemach politycznych, poziomu presji protekcjonistycznych, zróżnicowania polityki handlu zagranicznego między państwami, liberalizacji polityki handlu zagranicznego Chin i jej skutków, tendencji do liberalizacji handlu międzynarodowego i problemu ochrony środowiska oraz tendencji do bilateralizmu w polityce handlu zagranicznego. W niniejszym artykule Autor koncentruje się na analizie implikacji Transatlantyckiego Partnerstwa Handlowego i Inwestycjnego (TTIP) dla Chin. W ostatnim czasie w związku z negocjacjami w sprawie owego TTIP między USA a Unią Europejską, podkreślano, że rozmowy te mają doprowadzić do redukcji barier regulacyjnych, a to z kolei miało doprowadzić do istotnych korzyści ekonomicznych. W niniejszym artykule analizuje się problem barier regulacyjnych i dokonuje się oceny tego, co może zostać w związku z tym osiągnięte. Idealnie, najlepszym sposobem, aby rozwiązać problemy wynikające z rozbieżności regulacyjnych byłoby, na zasadzie wielostronnej współpracy, również uwzględniać stosunki UE i USA z Chinami. Głównym celem artykułu jest prezentacja implikacji TTIP dla Chin. W szczególności celem badawczym pozostają m.in. regulacyjne bariery handlowe polityki handlu zagranicznego w stosunkach transatlantyckich USA–UE, oraz specyfiki TTIP.

In this research work, the author focuses on the analysis of the directions of development of the new Chinese 'Belt and Road Initiative' (BRI) or 'One Belt, One Road' (OBOR) as a project launched by China to develop countries and improve global connectivity. First unveiled in 2013 by Chinese President Xi Jinping, the initiative continues to grow in scale and popularity. The initiative is focused on creating networks that will allow for a more efficient and productive free flow of trade as well as further integration of international markets both physically and digitally. BRI is comprised of the '21st Century Maritime Silk Road' and the 'Silk Road Economic Belt;' together they will connect more than 65 countries making up over 62% of the world's population, around 35% of the world's trade and over 31% of the world's GDP. It will take the form of a series of highways, railways and ports as well as facilities for energy, telecommunications, healthcare and education. It must be emphasized that the initiative merges both the land-based Silk Road (from China via Central Asia to Turkey and the EU) with the Maritime Route (via the Indian Ocean and Africa to Europe). Both routes were created with the intention of developing transportation infrastructure, facilitating economic development and increasing trade. This 21st-century initiative is not merely for China to romanticize its historical legacies: it carries major strategic economic and geopolitical calculations. The EU must decide now if and how to engage in these emerging processes. Celem głównym opracowania jest przedstawienie protekcjonizmu regulacyjnego zniekształcającego i ograniczającego współczesny handel międzynarodowy. Ważna jest zatem harmonizacja i wzajemne uznawanie norm szczególnie w zakresie barier technicznych i XXI wieku coraz większego znaczenia nabierają porozumienia bilateralne. Obejmują one już ponad 70% handlu zliberalizowanego. Wyraźnie zwiększyła się rola grupy G20. Zarówno WTO, jak i grupa G20 powinny wspólnie podejmować i koordynować wysiłki na rzecz zasad promujących nie tylko handel międzynarodowy państw wysoko rozwiniętych, ale rozszerzających również dostęp do rynku światowego państw rozwijających się. Poprzez wspieranie zasad handlowych w systemie globalnym wzmacniać się będzie legitymizacja funkcjonowania grupy G20, a zreformowany system światowej wymiany handlowej i zmodyfikowane zarządzanie tym systemem w ramach WTO z uwzględnieniem specyficznych interesów poszczególnych państw może przyczyniać się do dalszego dynamicznego rozwoju.

The paper aims to present the global determinants of the increased competitiveness of the European Union in the 21st century. Its detailed purpose was to determine the position of the European Union vis-à-vis the USA and Japan, to indicate the role of innovation and employment in the increased competitiveness of the EU, the position of the Common Agricultural Policy under the circumstances of increased competition, the increased importance of ser- vices, the position of the European Union as compared to the competitiveness of BRIC, and how the EU functions within WTO principles. The analysis of these research issues indicates that the European Union is facing a number of significant challenges in the early 21st century. Those related to the prices of goods and resources are particularly worth pointing out. They are closely, mutually related and concern political issues in the field of financial markets, de- velopment, trade, industry and external relations.

The topic of these considerations concerns the development of trade and economic relations between the European Union and the People's Republic of China. Their purpose is to indicate new phenomena in these relations. Analysis has shown that mutual economic relations in the first decade of the 21st century expanded considerably on account of common interests. The economic crisis at the turn of the first decade of the 21st century inspired plans to stimulate the economies of both parties, and tighten mutual relations. On both sides there are the conditions and prerequisites to further develop and intensify broad economic cooperation. The Chinese competitive challenge, resulting from its dynamic development, is particularly topical and important for the prospects of the European Union's global position.
