This study aims to identify the characteristic, cause, and disaster management of traffic accidents at the Sungailiat – Belinyu road. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Data collection techniques is in the form of documentation and observation. The data collected then analyzed using data analysis techniques with classification methods. Based on the research done, the results obtained are the accidents that occur on Jalan Raya Sungailiat - Belinyu are the most common in Riau Silip District with a percentage of 59.8%. The accidents characteristics on Sungailiat - Belinyu road based on the time of the incident, mostly occurred during the afternoon to evening at 12.00 - 17.59 WIB and in the evening at 18.00 - 23.59 WIB. Based on the type of collision, the most common types of collisions are frontal collisions by 30% and collisions due to loss of control by 26.6%. Based on road users, road users who are most involved in accidents are motorcycles by 40%, cars by 23.3%, dump trucks by 10%, and the other vehicles in a small percentage. As for the factors causing the accident, it was found that the accident was caused by road users (73.33%), road factors (23.33%), and environmental factors (6.66%). The handling of accident management is arranged according to the causative factors that are done before, when it occurs, and after an accident occurs as an effort to reduce the risk of accidents on the Sungailiat – Belinyu road, Bangka Regency.

Since human beings entering the modern era, risks have become parts of the very fabric of the society, either social, cultural, economy or political; they hit them entirely and continuously. The risks of the pandemic Covid-19 – hit the world in 2020 – have brought in a real jeopardy; new crises, new problems, new challenges that have radically changed ways of living of human beings in all continents and in all aspects of their daily activities. The issue of sustainability as the core principle to govern the today society – social, cultural, political and education – has been more prominent yet faced more difficult and unprecedented challenges. The academic conference addresses the issue of sustainability of social, education and political values, traditions and activities pursued by human beings in their daily life as now have been entirely affected by the pandemic. On the one hand, there is an inherent risk of the modern living, the vulnerability of human being and the power of nature that must be not only understood and learnt but also institutionalized and structured in various arena of social life of the people. On the other hand, there has been a tremendous change on the ways the social features of human living – from simple informal meeting/gathering of neighborhoods to daily shopping, formal working at the office/home, school teachings, professional football matches, elections and government/state ceremonies – being re-defined, reconstructed and carried out with online/virtual media. This new social fabric – thank to the Internet! – will eventually re-shape all established social institutions – states/government bodies, private companies, churches/religious organizations, schools/universities and so forth – on their approaches and serve the populace as well as their adaptation and change to survive and sustain.

Abstract
As of the beginning of September 2021, the COVID-19 outbreak has lasted for more than 1.5 years in Indonesia, especially on Java and Bali islands. Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia, is one of the areas that continued to impose restrictions on community activities at the highest level for that period. This is due to the high rate of COVID-19 spread in this region. In this paper, the influence of landscape and meteorological parameters on the spread of COVID-19 risk in Yogyakarta is investigated. This study utilises primary and secondary data obtained from observation, remote-sensing-image interpretation, literature study and data documented by several agencies. The data were statistically analysed using simple linear regression and Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis utilising the average nearest neighbour. The results show that the variation in landscape and meteorological parameters in the Yogyakarta area does not have a significant impact on the spread of COVID-19. Ease of accessibility in various areas of Yogyakarta is able to overcome landscape barriers. This affects the random distribution pattern of COVID-19, clustering in plain areas that facilitate population mobility rather than in mountainous, volcanic or karst areas. Also, meteorological conditions with small variations do not impact the spread of COVID-19. In summary, this study shows that ease of mobility in a medium-wide area can encourage the spread of COVID-19 in various regions even though there are variations in its terrain and climate.
