The article deals with the specifics of the functioning of two types of repetition - framing and chain repetition - in the discourse of well-known modern novelists L. Weisberger and M. Amis. The authors reveal expediency of the novelists' appeal to these types of repetition and the produced stylistic effect. It is noted that the repetition of lexical elements in the form of a ring or chain is an effective means of internal (logical) and external (pragmatic) coherence of the text.

The article is devoted to the identification of gender peculiarities in applying the strategy of expert opinion demonstration as one of the ways to manipulate recipients on the Internet. On the basis of linguistic analysis of English blogs with expert content selected by the method of continuous sampling, specific speech tactics which express gender identity in the process of expert opinion presentation are characterized. The interdependence between the functional load of the blogs and the speech tools used by the bloggers is established and analyzed. It was revealed that female experts implemented the tactics of uncertainty, justification and intimacy expressed in conditional sentences, just to convey hesitation, means of semantic hyperbolization of speech, appeal to another person's opinion and the results of other people's research, quotes, dialogicity of utterances in the blogs. The blogs created by male experts featured implementation of the tactics of we-community, knowledge demonstration, intimidation, beliefs with high degree of textual cohesion, description of negative scenario in case of the expert's recommendations ignoring, rhetorical questions and adverb instead embedding, negative constructions and verbs in the imperative mood. The identified tactics and speech means used for these tactics implementation are qualified as gender markers of manipulative influence on the user through the expression of expert opinion.

The article is devoted to the study of semantic components correlation in the content of Russian memes and demotivators about mass self-isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sampling consisted of 1,500 Russian memes and demotivators. The application of a network approach to the analysis of the sense structure of verbal-visual polycode texts has enabled the author to identify the cases of specific semantic components correlation, and describe the types of their semantic relations, including localization, identity, attribution, temporal correlation, opposition, cause-and-effect, subject, object and instrument. The research highlights the fact that the correlation of semantic components by means of a certain type of semantic relations can reflect both objective information, certain trends and patterns observed in society, and subjective ideas about mass self-isolation. The examples of comic effect emergence are described. The cases when the correlation between semantic components is expressed verbally (both semantic components are represented in the verbal part of the polycode text), non-verbally (both semantic components are represented in the iconic part of the polycode text), synsemantically (one of the correlating semantic components is expressed verbally, and the other is depicted iconically) are analyzed. It has been noted that representation form mainly depends on the specificity of the correlated semantic components in the polycode text, and the author's individual preferences. Explicitly and implicitly expressed links between certain semantic components in the analyzed polycode texts devoted to mass self-isolation are considered. The correlation of certain semantic components of polycode texts reveals the peculiarities of perception and understanding of various aspects of this phenomenon.

The article deals with the analysis of the representation of gender in game related phenomenon of "crossplay", which involves impersonation as a character of the opposite sex, or attempts to try on the image of a character in a computer game, anime or film, which is gender different from the one originally presented in one or an-other fictional story narrative. The author analyzes the phenomena of M2F, F2M, gender bender and try to show the correlation of these everyday practices both with some problems of self-identification of a modern person living in contexts of fluid identity, oversaturated with the meanings of the modern cultural space, and with the complexity of the computer-game narrative, the convergence of gaming, animation and cinematic types of nar-rative representation of the fictional world and its heroes. The author draws conclusions about the "removal" of problems of self-identification in the phenomenon of cosplay, its special specificity among other types of eve-ryday practices.

Computer games, which have become widespread in the modern cultural space, reflect many phenomena of the real world, the reality surrounding a person, and even aspects of an individual's self-representation. The most important characteristic, finding its representation in a computer-game narrative, is the gender of the characters. In addition, in modern games there is also reflection on the problem of gender. Many modern games try to capture the complexity of the gender image, the correlation between gender and the game world, the presence of stories of world culture in the gender image, mythology and even experiences of philosophical reflection. In modern computer games we can distinguish games with complex gender images within the framework of a complicated game narrative. These games represent the topoi of the internal game space as examples of a certain gaming space-time which shows the gender image in its complexity/simplicity. The au-thor analyzes gender images within the topoi of the game narrative through psychoanalytic and phenomeno-logical registers, as well as two ways of fixing gender characteristics: discursive and semiotic-narrative.

The aim of the study is to provide the reader with an insight into the transformation of Russia's economic space under the conditions of "new reality/normality". In this regard, the author summarizes theoretical and methodo-logical approaches to understanding the term "economic space", among which the territorial, resource, infor-mation, process, reproductive and institutional approaches are highlighted. Based on the thesis that changes in the contribution of production factors to the formation of wealth, the decline in economic rationality and the in-crease in the uncertainty factor lead to a significant transformation of economic space, the authors analyzed its properties and features of formation. The analysis of population density and the volume of gross regional product per unit area made it possible to draw a conclusion about the growing heterogeneity of economic space in the conditions of the "new reality". There is a high digital divide between Russian territories and an increase in ESG inequality.

This article is devoted to the formation of the Kalmyk National District on the Don and the problem of determining its administrative center at the turn of the 1920–1930s. The author, noting the positive phenomena that occurred in the life of the Don Kalmyks as part of the national district (education, preservation of national identity), draws attention to the artificial nature of the creation of this national district in the absence of compact residence of the Don Kalmyks. When organizing it, the interests of the Russian population included in the district, as well as many Kalmyks, who preferred to move to the Kalmyk Autonomous Republic even before the liquidation of the national district in 1944, were not taken into account. Even the administrative center of the Kalmyk district has not acquired a national appearance.

The article reveals the conceptualization and categorization peculiarities of simplex deverbal nouns with -er. The research is based on the extensive empiric material and is carried out at the interface of the structural and cognitive linguistics theories. The latter are represented by the methods of semantic decomposition, structural and cognitive-semantic analysis along with the method of conceptual modeling. The carried out analysis has allowed the author to elucidate that the lexis stratum under study falls into the subcategories with the cognitive basis expressed via the concepts "animate doer', "instrument", "event" and "purpose location". Having processed the empirical data the author highlights and systema- tizes the integral and differential parameters which underlie the meaning of the -er nominatives from the above mentioned categories. It has also been found out that the category "an- imate doer" has the most complicated conceptual structure and serves as a feeder for the other categories. These observations indicate the anthropocentricity of the -er deverbals semantics.
