(1) Background: Obesity has become a global epidemic that arouse much attention from governments, companies and scholar. Physical activity calorie equivalent (PACE) labels are introduced as a more effective nudge invention on less-calorie ordering. However, the effects of PACE labels are controversial in previous literature, thus, the research objective is to explore the effects of different PACE labels and furtherly to explore the underlying psychological mechanism; (2) Methods: Across four scenario-based experiments, involving potato chips, chocolate and cookies, this study manipulated the three calorie-information labeling (standard calorie label, long time PACE and short time PACE labels). Meanwhile, the mediating mechanism of the effects involving anticipatory guilt and the moderation effects between consumers' future self-continuity and PACE labels are also measured; (3) Results: Results show that compared with the short time PACE and calorie labels, the longtime PACE labels have more negative influence on consumers' purchase intention for unhealthy food. What's more, the anticipatory guilt has negative effect of PACE labels as consumers are often prone to feeling guilty in the process of unhealthy food consumption. In addition, individuals with high future self-continuity have higher self-control and take more consideration of future outcomes, they are reluctant to choose unhealthy food than others; (4) Conclusions: Unhealthy food with a long time PACE label has more negative effect on consumers' purchase intention rather than a short time PACE label. At the same time, companies that produce healthy foods should actively participate in the movement to label calories through the PACE labels.

PurposeThis study investigates how artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots persuade customers to accept their recommendations in the online shopping context.Design/methodology/approachDrawing on the elaboration likelihood model, this study establishes a research model to reveal the antecedents and internal mechanisms of customers' adoption of AI chatbot recommendations. The authors tested the model with survey data from 530 AI chatbot users.FindingsThe results show that in the AI chatbot recommendation adoption process, central and peripheral cues significantly affected a customer's intention to adopt an AI chatbot's recommendation, and a customer's cognitive and emotional trust in the AI chatbot mediated the relationships. Moreover, a customer's mind perception of the AI chatbot, including perceived agency and perceived experience, moderated the central and peripheral paths, respectively.Originality/valueThis study has theoretical and practical implications for AI chatbot designers and provides management insights for practitioners to enhance a customer's intention to adopt an AI chatbot's recommendation.Research highlightsThe study investigates customers' adoption of AI chatbots' recommendation.The authors develop research model based on ELM theory to reveal central and peripheral cues and paths.The central and peripheral cues are generalized according to cooperative principle theory.Central cues include recommendation reliability and accuracy, and peripheral cues include human-like empathy and recommendation choice.Central and peripheral cues affect customers' adoption to recommendation through trust in AI.Customers' mind perception positively moderates the central and peripheral paths.

AbstractUsing social cognitive theory, we examine the relationship between socially responsible human resource management (SRHRM) and employees' ethical voice. Our study also explores the mediating role of employees' ethical self‐efficacy and the moderating role of organizational identification. Analysis of data gathered over three separate periods indicates that SRHRM is positively related to employees' ethical voice and that this relationship is mediated by employees' ethical self‐efficacy. Furthermore, employees' organizational identification influences not only the positive relationship between SRHRM and employees' self‐efficacy but also the indirect relationship between SRHRM and ethical voice via ethical self‐efficacy. The findings of this study provide theoretical contributions and managerial implications for SRHRM and ethical voice.

Purpose
This paper aims to conduct a review of the recent literature on inter-firm relationship quality (RQ) in the supply chain (SC) settings.


Design/methodology/approach
100 English-language scientific publications on inter-firm RQ, published from 2006 to 2015 were selected and analyzed by using a content analysis approach.


Findings
The results of the frequency analysis map the antecedents, dimensions and consequences – particularly the performance and behavioral intentions of collaborating partners – of buyer–seller RQ presented in the current literature. The contingency analysis offers insights into the use of relevant constructs of inter-firm RQ in SCs in the individual papers. A range of research gaps is uncovered.


Research limitations/implications
The category building for the content analysis was based on an RQ framework that focuses on the mediator structure and neglects the effects of moderators.


Practical implications
The developed framework of inter-firm RQ in SCs provides managers with a guide to the relevant influencing factors, evaluation indicators and consequences of the quality of their relationships with SC partners.


Originality/value
This paper provides the first literature review at the intersection of RQ and SC. The research framework developed specifies the use of the previous RQ framework in the business-to-business and SC context. A critique of the existing studies is discussed and the agenda for future research are suggested.
