Las revoluciones militares: el caso de China

El paradigma de las revoluciones militares constituye una herramienta que permite analizar la relacion existente entre los factores ideologicos, institucionales, economicos, sociologicos y tecnologicos, por una parte y el grado de desarrollo del poder politico y militar de los Estados, por otra parte. En este articulo se ofrece una adaptacion de dicho paradigma y se revisa la situacion de China, a modo de estudio de caso. Todo ello con la mirada puesta en la definicion de sus capacidades reales como aspirante a una hegemonia regional o como contrapoder en el sistema mundial. Las conclusiones recogen importantes deficits en muchos de los puntos analizados y muestran que China todavia tiene un enorme camino por recorrer, pese a los buenos resultados economicos de los ultimos anos The paradigm of military revolutions is a tool for analyzing the relationship between ideological, institutional, economic, sociological and technological, on the one hand and the degree of development of political and military power of the States, on the other hand. This article provides an adaptation of this paradigm and review the situation in China, as a case study. The final goal is an approach to his actually capacities as candidate, either, to regional hegemony or to counterbalancing the power in the international system. The conclusions reflect significant deficits in many of the points discussed and show that China still has a huge way to go, despite the good economic performance of recent years.
