leyds-70-7199.pdf created from original pamphlet in the WJ Leyds Collection held in the Africana Section of the Stellenbosch University Library and Information Service. ; Political tracts ; no. 9. ; The Treaty between Great Britain and Japan contains two policies, the major and the minor -the policy of peace and Chinese independence, the policy of interference and British interests. If the Treaty interpreted in the sense of the major policy, all the really solid advantages which the minor policy represents will be secured and a great contribution will have been made to the peace of the world; if it is interpreted in the sense of the minor policy, both British interests and the world's interests will be sacrificed.
