Mobile Adhoc network is the most advanced emerging technology in the field of wireless communication. MANETs mainly have the capacity of self-forming, self-healing, enabling peer to peer communication between the nodes, without relying on any centralized network architecture. MANETs are made applicable mainly to military applications, rescue operations and home networking. Practically, MANET could be attacked by several ways using multiple methods. Research on MANET emphasizes on data security issues, as the Adhoc network does not befit security mechanism associated with static networks. This paper focuses mainly on data security techniques incorporated in MANET. Also this paper proposes an implementation of Advanced Encryption Standard using biometric key for MANETs. AES implementation includes, the design of most robust Substitution-Box implementation which defines a nonlinear behavior and mitigates malicious attacks, with an extended security definition. The key for AES is generated using most reliable, robust and precise biometric processing. In this paper, the input message is encrypted by AES powered by secured nonlinear S-box using finger print biometric feature and is decrypted using the reverse process.

Product registration in rest of world is a challenging task like regulated countries (US, EU & Japan) as they are not harmonized. It creates a difference in regulatory environment in Semi Regulated countries. Enormous diversity of regulatory requirements are found in this area. This region consists of mainly the countries from Asia pacific, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa and Gulf countries. Countries from Asia pacific and Gulf have somewhat harmonized their regulatory environment through The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) organizations, ROW countries yet to be harmonized regulations in their respective regions. The urgent requirement to rationalize & harmonize regulation was required by instance of rising cost of health care, research & development and to meet the public requirement for safe and efficacious treatments to patient in need. ICH committee has given priority to harmonize the format of reporting data for quality, safety and Efficacy in the application dossier. The commercial significance of ROW markets is increasing globally. It is crucial that pharmaceutical companies keep up-to-date with the latest regulatory developments to ensure their place on the ROW market. This paper favors the regulatory processes for gaining marketing authorization in ROW countries in terms of technical data requirement for the dossier. Abstract Introduction The eastern part of India has been affected by an ongoing low-intensity conflict between government forces and armed Maoist groups, known as Naxalites. Since 2006, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been providing primary health care services in the conflict-affected region along the Andhra Pradesh-Chhattisgarh border. In 2011, treatment for drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) was included in the services provided. This report aims to describe MSF experiences of providing treatment to DR-TB patients in a mobile primary health care outpatient clinic, in a low-intensity conflict setting in India. Case description A total of thirteen patients were diagnosed with drug-resistant TB (DR-TB) between January 2011 and October 2013. An innovative treatment model was developed which delegated responsibility to non-TB clinicians, including primary-care nurses and nurse-aids who were remotely supported by a TB-specialist from the MSF DR-TB project in Mumbai. Individualised regimens were designed for each patient based on WHO guidelines. Of these 13 patients, 10 patients had an outcome, of whom seven (70%) patients were cured. One patient became lost to follow-up prior to treatment initiation, one patient died prior to starting treatment and one patient refused treatment. Three patients were on-treatment, were clinically improving and were culture-negative at the end of their intensive phase of treatment. Discussion and evaluation Drug-resistant tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment is a highly specialised and technical subject which requires continued patient follow-up. However, our study demonstrates that it is feasible to manage DR-TB patients in a conflict setting, using a primary-care model with remote expert support. Long-term commitment and sustainability are essential for continued care, even more so in similar conflict settings. Loss to follow-up in patients remains a programmatic challenge and community involvement may play a key role. Conclusion Managing DR-TB in a primary health care programme is feasible in a low-conflict setting with an appropriate treatment model. Ambulatory strategies and standardised treatment regimens should be considered to further simplify treatment delivery and allow for scale-up when needed.

Crop discrimination and acreage play a vital role in interpreting the cropping pattern, statistics of the produce and market value of each product. Sultan Battery is an area where a large amount of irrigated and rainfed paddy crops are grown along with Rubber, Arecanut and Coconut. In addition, the northern region of Sultan Battery is covered with evergreen and deciduous forest. In this study, the main objective is to evaluate the performance of optical and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)-optical hybrid fusion imageries for crop discrimination in Sultan Bathery Taluk of Wayanad district in Kerala. Seven land use classes such as paddy, rubber, coconut, deciduous forest, evergreen forest, water bodies and others land use (e.g., built-up, barren etc.) were selected based on literature review and local land use classification policy. Both Sentinel-2A (optical) and sentinel-1A (SAR) satellite imageries of 2017 for Kharif season were used for classification using three machine learning classifiers such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF) and Classification and Regression Trees (CART). Further, the performance of these techniques was also compared in order to select the best classifier. In addition, spectral indices and textural matrices (NDVI, GLCM) were extracted from the image and best features were selected using the sequential feature selection approach. Thus, 10-fold cross-validation was employed for parameter tuning of such classifiers to select best hyperparameters to improve the classification accuracy. Finally, best features, best hyperparameters were used for final classification and accuracy assessment. The results show that SVM outperforms the RF and CART and similarly, Optical+SAR datasets outperforms the optical and SAR satellite imageries. This study is very supportive for the earth observation scientists to support promising guideline to the agricultural scientist, policy-makers and local government for sustainable agriculture practice.

Background: Rickettsial diseases are re-emerging in India. Acute undifferentiated febrile illness is a difficult case to treat (AUFI). The greatest problem for clinicians is the early diagnosis of these diseases when antibiotic therapy is most successful.To determine the prevalence of RDs, therapy outcomes, and socio-demographic factors associated with RDs in AUFI. Patients and Methods: Fever and/or clinical signs of Rickettsial infection in patients admitted to the CIMS teaching hospital in Chamarajanagar for four years. Purposive sampling found AUFI in 1638 people. The diagnosis of rickettsial disease relied on clinical features. The Weil-Felix test was one. Then came a 48–72-hour estimate of doxycycline response. Results:Out of 1810 AUFI cases, 198 (10.93%) were rickettsial, with 190 (95.95%) having an RGA score of 14 or more, and 18 (9.09%) having an RGA score of 14 or less. Males aged 30-40 were most affected. Leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, etc. were found. Doxycycline was effective in 151 (89.35%) of cases within one week of onset. The remaining 18 (10.65%) required longer-term doxycycline with other drugs, three had severe complications, and one died. RD prevalence 70.01 %. Enteric fever, Dengue fever, Chikungunya fever, and Rickettsial diseases were the most common diseases diagnosed in patients with undifferentiated febrile illness.

AbstractUttar Pradesh (UP), with more than 220 million people, is the most populous state in India. Despite a high unmet need for modern family planning methods, the state has experienced a substantial decline in fertility. India has also seen a decline during this period which can be attributed to the increased prevalence of modern methods of family planning, particularly female sterilisation, but in UP, the corresponding increase was marginal. At the same time, Traditional Family Planning Methods (TMs) increased significantly in UP in contrast to India, where it was marginal. The trends in UP raise questions about the drivers in fertility decline and question the conventional wisdom that fertility declines are driven by modern methods, and the paper aims to understand this paradox. Fertility trends and family planning practices in UP were analysed using data from different rounds of National Family Health Surveys (NFHS) and the two UP Family Planning Surveys conducted by the UP Technical Support Unit to understand whether the use of TMs played a role in the fertility decline. As per NFHS-4, the prevalence of TM in India (6%) was less than half that of UP (13%). The UP Family Planning Survey in 25 High Priority Districts estimated that 22% of women used TMs. The analysis also suggested that availability and accessibiility of modern contraceptives might have played a role in the increased use of TMs in UP. If there are still couples who make a choice in favour of TMs, they should be well informed about the risks associated with the use of traditional methods as higher failure rate is observed among TMs users.

Abstract Background Uttar Pradesh (UP) is the most populous state in India with historically high levels of fertility rates than the national average. Though fertility levels in UP declined considerably in recent decades, the current level is well above the government's target of 2.1. Data and methods Fertility and family planning data obtained from the different rounds of Sample Registration System (SRS) and the National Family Health Survey (NFHS). We analyzed fertility and family planning trends in India and UP, including differences in methods mix, using SRS (1971–2016) and NFHS (1992–2016). Bivariate and multivariate regression analyses were used. Results From 2000, while the total fertility rate (TFR) declined in UP, it is still well above the national level in 2015–16 (2.7 vs 2.18, respectively). The demand for family planning satisfied increased from 52 to 72% during 1998–99 to 2015–16 in UP, compared to an increase from 75 to 81% in India. Traditional methods play a much greater role in UP than in India (22 and 9% of the demand satisfied respectively), while use of sterilization was relatively low in UP when compared to the national averages (18.0 and 36.3% of current married women 15–49 years in UP and India, respectively in 2015–16). Within UP, district fertility ranged from 1.6 to 4.4, with higher fertility concentrated in districts with low female schooling, predominantly located in north-central UP. Fertility declines were largest in districts with high fertility in the late nineties (B = 7.33, p < .001). Among currently married women, use of traditional methods increased and accounted for almost one-third of users in 2015–16. Use of sterilization declined but remained the primary method (ranging from 33 to 41% of users in high and low fertility districts respectively) while condom use increased from 17 and 16% in 1998–99 to 23 and 25% in 2015–16 in low and high fertility districts respectively. Conclusions and implications Greater reliance on traditional methods and condoms coupled with relatively low demand for modern contraception suggest inadequate access to modern contraceptives, especially in district with high fertility rates. Family planning activities need to be appropriately scaled according to need and geography to ensure the achievement of state-level improvements in family planning programs and fertility outcomes.

Through the SHIVA ANR project, we are seeking a method to assess and map the vulnerability of farmers in southern India to both climate and socioeconomic changes, and secondly, to assess the costs and benefits associated with trends farmers' vulnerability in the medium and long-term. The project is focusing on southern India 's hard rock area, as in the geological context, both surface and ground water resources are naturally limited. We are also focusing on farming populations as these are the main water users in the area and rely exclusively on groundwater. The area covers southern India's semi-arid zone, where the rainfall gradient ranges from 600 mm to 1100 mm. Vulnerability is expected to vary according to local climatic conditions but also the socioeconomic characteristics of farming households. The SHIVA research team has been divided into six thematic groups in order to address the different scientific issues : downscaling the regional climate scenario, farm area projections, vulnerability assessments and quantification, vulnerability mapping, hydrological modelling and upscaling, and vulnerability impact assessements. Our approach is multidisciplinary to cater for for numerous inherent themes, and integrated to cater for vulnerability as a dynamic and multidimensional concept. The project 's first results after 10 months of research are presented below.
