The common agricultural policy, customs unions and the Mediterranean Basin

The growth in preferential trading arrangements in the post-war world, given the initial GATT commitment to the most-favoured-nation clause, is now much remarked upon. Reflects upon some of the implications of the EC's preferential arrangements with Mediterranean States, particularly as they affect trade in agricultural products, in the aftermath of the Iberian Englargement.
