The Iberian archaeological record is particularly rich in asynchronous (i.e. chronologically mixed) assemblages including Athenian pots that predate the other items by a couple of decades or even a few centuries. Recent scholarship on keimëlia, or 'curated objects' in modern parlance, has shown the potential of such objects to investigate questions of identity, agency and history-making among the receiving communities, but also to shed light on the role of Athenian pottery among them. This article analyses this phenomenon within the Iberian peninsula, focusing on drinking cups, both black-gloss with inset lip (Cástulo cups) and red-figure type B cups. Using case studies from necropoleis and settlements of the southeast and east of the peninsula, the article explores the reasons and meaning of this consumption practice. It is argued that the occurrence of 'heirloom' vases in Iberian tombs and their extraordinary survival in some settlements is the result of a conscious and deliberate choice indicating the existence of mechanisms of social distinction based on a diacritical use of material culture. It is further argued that different motivations might lie behind their delayed deposition: when the chronological gap between production and disposal dates is small, one or two human generations, curated Athenian vases worked similarly to non-curated ones, being emblematic of economic success, social affiliations and political rank. But when the interval is longer, Athenian pots became symbols of ancestry and elite status, possibly acquiring the same legitimizing role earlier bestowed upon Orientalizing artefacts. En el articulo se estudian algunos aspectos teorico practicos que se presentan durante la soldadura de los hierros fundidos en lo que respecta a problemas en su soldabilidad debido a la baja plasticidad que tienen estos, formacion de la cementina, infundibilidad en las piezas que estan en contacto durante mucho tiempo con grasas, aceites o agua de mar, quemado de estos materiales, formacion de poros, crecimiento de los hierro fundidos, etc. Se brindan los principios del precalentamiento en los hierros fundidos, las recomendaciones de las temperaturas para el calentamiento de diferentes tipos de piezas y la forma de realizar estas operaciones.En el trabajo se dan pasos tecnologicos fundamentales para realizar de piezas de diferentes tipos de piezas de uso en la practica industrial.

The objective of this research is to analyze the characteristics of the labor market insertion of Mexicans by type of qualification and their wage differences in relation to native workers in the United States. The hypothesis is that there is a wage inequality between Mexican migrant workers and native workers, accentuated among skilled workers, due to a segmentation of the U.S. labor market. The methodology used to analyze each of the components that add up to the wage gap between Mexican and native workers is the Ñopo decomposition. The results showed the opposite of what is established by the human capital theory since the wage difference between Mexicans immigrants and natives by type of job qualification is mostly unexplainable from a statistical point of view and escapes modeling. This means that having citizenship and education does not eliminate the differences between Mexicans and natives. This allows us to accept the hypothesis, except in the case of low-skilled Mexican immigrants, since they have a wage differential in their favor.

The objective of this study is to determine whether the gender roles wherein women are assigned the responsibilities of homemaker and caregiver, and men the responsibilities of provider, influence the labour force participation of both genders. In addition, the study examines whether said labour forceparticipation has varied over the period of 2005 to 2008, given the changes in the macroeconomic conditions and women's inclusion in the workplace. For the empirical analysis, a probit model is estimated and the marginal effects are calculated. To check the reliability of the models, plots of the specificity and sensitivity analyses are then computed for different cut-off points, and the tests for Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves are carried out. The calculations are based on microdata from the National Survey of Occupation and Employment for 2005 and 2018. The main results indicate that the probability of participation increases for women and men with schooling (all levels), work experience, role as head of the household, and number of dependants. Conversely, it declines with age ranges over 56 years old, hours dedicated to the care of household members and the upkeep of the home, remittances and government aid. Lastly, the variable that has different effects for men and for women is being married. These results underscore the prevailing gender roles in Mexican society. ; Con el objetivo de conocer si los roles de género que asignan a las mujeres el papel de cuidadora del hogar y sus miembros y al hombre como proveedor, condicionan la participación de ambos en el mercado de trabajo y si la participación ha variado a lo largo del periodo 2005-2018, dado que las condiciones macroeconómicas y de inclusión de la mujer a la vida laboral se han modificado. Para la comprobación empírica se estima un modelo probit y se realiza el cálculo de los efectos marginales y posteriormente para comprobar la fiabilidad de los modelos, se calculan los gráficos del análisis de especificidad y sensibilidad para diferentes puntos de corte, así como los contrastes asociados a las curvas sobre las Características Operativas del Receptor (ROC). Los cálculos se hacen con los microdatos de la Encuesta Nacional de Ocupación y Empleo 2005 y 2018. Los principales resultados indican que la probabilidad de participación aumenta para mujeres y hombres con la escolaridad (todos los rangos), experiencia, jefatura de hogar, número de dependientes; y reduce su participación en los rangos de edad mayores de 56 años, horas dedicadas al cuidado de integrantes y de mantenimiento del hogar, remesas y ayudas de gobierno; finalmente la variable que tiene efectos distintos entre hombres y mujeres es el estar casado. Estos resultados reafirman los roles de género que imperan en la sociedad mexicana.

El objetivo es determinar la existencia de una brecha salarial entre trabajadores con y sin discapacidad en México, a su vez, en qué medida tal disparidad se explica por factores relacionados al capital humano, con los datos de Censos de Población y Vivienda de 2000 y 2010, y la metodología de Firpo, Lemieux y Fortin (2011). Los resultados muestran la existencia de una brecha salarial y ésta, a pesar de presentar una disminución a lo largo de la década, se debe en mayor medida al incremento asociado a los factores no relacionados con la productividad, exceptuando el decil más bajo y más alto.

PurposeThe purpose of this two-wave longitudinal study was to examine the role of mindfulness as mediator between social support and engagement and as a moderator in the relationship between work overload and burnout, both cross-sectionally and after one year.Design/methodology/approachThe sample consisted of 243 Peruvian teachers. Structural equation modeling and SPSS Process Macro were used to test the hypothesis.FindingsThe results show that mindfulness mediated the relationship between social support and engagement at both times but doesn't moderate the relationship between work overload and burnout at either time.Originality/valueThis study highlights the role of mindfulness as a valuable personal resource in the workplace, as it facilitates a higher functioning at work while identifying relevant organizational characteristics that have an influence in its use.

This paper seeks to determine which workers affected by lockdown measures can return to work when a government decides to apply lockdown exit strategies. This system, which we call Sequential Selective Multidimensional Decision (SSMD), involves deciding sequentially, by geographical areas, sectors of activity, age groups and immunity, which workers can return to work at a given time according to the epidemiological criteria of the country as well as that of a group of reference countries, used as a benchmark, that have suffered a lower level of lockdown de-escalation strategies. We apply SSMD to Spain, based on affiliation to the Social Security system prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and conclude that 98.37% of the population could be affected. The proposed system makes it possible to accurately identify the target population for serological IgG antibody tests in the work field, as well as those affected by special income replacement measures due to lockdown being maintained over a longer period.

The 8th EMB Forum took place online on 1st December 2021. It provided an opportunity, at the end of the first year of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, to reflect on the progress made so far and discuss the required next steps to deliver a successful Decade in Europe. Over 120 participants from Europe and further afield were present either in person and online, representing academia, government, industry, and NGOs. Experts gave presentations and participated in panel discussions, with audience interaction. This document is a summary of the discussions, and full recordings of the sessions are available on the EMB YouTube Channel.
