What are the skills to be attributed to the good politician in a historical phase marked by the metamorphosis of politics? To ethically reset the complexity of politics understood as a profession, it is essential to start from an interdisciplinary analysis of its skills. In this book the history of political philosophy with economics and scientific research, pedagogy with teaching and finally psychology with sociology interact with each other to identify those essential practical skills even in non-routine situations. A study full of empirical data and historical references, a useful tool both for the political theory scholar and for the professional politician who intend to compete with demanding issues of very topical relevance.

Resumo: Neste artigo eu analiso alguns momentos da influência e recepção de Nietzsche entre a Europa e a América (nomeadamente em Martin Heidegger, Giovanni Papini e Josiah Royce) através de uma perspectiva pragmatista, a fim de mostrar como um monismo seletivo e um pluralismo realista emergem de suas interpretações de Nietzsche. Com base nesta reconstrução teórica e historiográfica, enfatizo que Nietzsche, tanto por meio de seu monismo como de seu pluralismo, pode questionar qualquer suposta irreversibilidade no campo da moral. Ao reconhecer a possibilidade de mudança do sujeito, de reverter a única irreversibilidade superficial de seu Dasein, o pragmatismo de Nietzsche neste sentido representa uma grande conquista teórica, indispensável para a definição de um novo paradigma bio-antropológico, no qual a identidade pode coexistir efetivamente com diferença.

In this article I am focusing on the problem of greatness and on the social destiny of strong individuals in some moments of Nietzsche's reflection, investigating the ethical-pedagogical implications of this assumption, without neglecting the importance of the historical experience. On this basis, I value Nietzsche's attempt to reconfigure subjectivity and intersubjective relations through new models of coexistence (even in democratic contexts marked by decadence), by appealing to the human capacity for self-overcoming, in accordance with the demands of a "concrete reason" which makes explicit the multiple ways of being in the world.
