<p>El artículo se basa en amplias investigaciones realizadas a lo largo de casi diez años que incluyen fuentes de La Habana, Washington, DC y la Biblioteca Roosevelt en Hyde Park, Nueva York. El trabajo subraya las dimensiones culturales de las relaciones internacionales, al abordar el escenario de los clubes sociales en La Habana, Cuba, en la época pre-revolucionaria. Tal como lo evidencia el estudio, la atmósfera licenciosa que imperaba dentro de la "colonia norteamericana" y que se extendía a los estratos superiores de la aliada clase alta cubana, se desarrollaba bajo formas culturales que demostraron, en última instancia, ser políticas, en el más inestable de los sentidos.</p><h1> </h1>
