brian rotman is a Humanities Distinguished Professor at the Ohio State University in the Department of Comparative Studies. His writings include numerous pieces in the Guardian, the Times Literary Supplement, and the London Review of Books, a number of stage plays, five published books, among which are Signifying Nothing: the Semiotics of Zero and Ad Infinitum... the Ghost in Turing's Machine, both from Stanford University Press, and a forthcoming book Becoming beside Ourselves: The Alphabet, Ghosts, and Distributed Human Being to be published by Duke University Press.
