Los festivales de luz han sido adoptados a nivel internacional como herramientas para la democratización de las artes, para estimular las economías nocturnas, fomentar la citybrandificación y para superar la estacionalidad turística. Pero aún siguen siendo desconocidos en Portugal. El presente trabajo presenta los resultados exploratorios de un mapeo realizado a los centros de información turística con el objetivo de identificar la presencia de este tipo de eventos a nivel nacional. Nuestro análisis indica que los festivales de luz son confundidos de forma constante con otros tipos de eventos. Referimos aquí las confusiones más habituales, así como presentamos una tipificación de los eventos luminosos y sus características. The Third International Conference of Young Urban Researchers, aimed to bring together professionals, artists, general public, and researchers to talk about cities. The TICYUrb covered a big number of topics regarding the urban life, urban sociabilities and urban uses. In ProductCity we intended to go deeper, how the city is used, owned, sold, understood and transformed in terms of economic and symbolic value. Cities have always been privileged places of production and transaction of material products and intangible goods (culture, norms, values). These aspects contribute to the polarization of political, economic and institutional power and affirmation of an arena of social demands necessary for the consolidation of democracy. Currently, a set of multiple transformations and practices of territorial exploitation, arising from the context of economic crisis and financial globalization, are translated into the increasing centrality of the urban as a space for accumulation of capital and consumption. At the same time, socio-economic inequalities and environmental impacts are intensified and accelerated, extending beyond the geographic boundaries of urban or territorial borders. Considering this dual possibility of reading between the city as a space that activates flows, productive systems and 'varied goods' (or as merchandise itself) and the city as a space for democratic affirmation and social demand. Night Studies is a transdisciplinary field with works from different social and human sciences. Topics are very wide, and they cover a good number of geographical and social contexts, formal and informal practices, and behaviours. In this second edition, we pay attention to the current pandemic, but we encourage works reflecting on other issues related to the night. The current pandemic has highlighted the importance of invisible workers such as garbage collectors, transporters, emergency doctors and other professions who dedicate their nights to guarantee the well-being and the smooth functioning of life in society. But, it has also put other professionals related to the nightlife, food and beverage sector and workers in the cultural industry in check. With the emergency lockdown dictated by the different governments came the end of the social night. Consumption patterns changed, favouring the rise of a more precarious circular market. Job insecurity increased in every sector, but the industries associated with the night were devastated. The patrons of cultural activities turned to their online adaptations, as well as many arts and leisure professionals adapted their activity to streaming content (meanwhile, some were forced to change their profession or hibernate, waiting for the next night normality). The nights in the times of COVID-19 meant the reduction of the groups; and the physical distancing, digital proximity. However, some resistances have emerged, in form of informal gatherings occupying both public and private spaces during nighttime hours –e.g., raves, parallel party scenes or intimate parties between adults. Overnight enforcement, (bio)surveillance, and public security would gain new meaning during the pandemic. Also, this locked night required a new way for policing and managing the cities, finding different models and propositions. There are many different ways to approach the night and many issues that could be addressed in this conference. We invite all researchers, professionals, and artists to participate with their outstanding work. The 2nd International Conference on Night Studies was an international event that aimed to echo frontier research, artistic works and professional practices related to the study of the urban night in multiple contexts worldwide. This event aimed to be a platform for sharing ongoing or recent research, open a critical and interdisciplinary debate, and boost e-networking, bringing together academia and society. Vaccines are needed to reduce the mortality and economic damage caused by COVID-19. To date there are three approved vaccines in the European Union created by BioNTech/Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca, but due to the high demand globally there are still shortages, forcing governments to create strategies to immunize their population prioritizing their citizens according to their risk evaluation and their systemic relevance. This review specifies on the German vaccination strategy.

The night has been the subject of multiple readings by the social and human sciences, as well as it has inspired multiple narratives throughout history, literature and popular culture. However, the study of nightlife, practices, and actors only gained attention in recent years. The appearance of "mayors of the night" with the intention of improving urban governance during this period and thus guaranteeing needs, rights and services is the result of a progressive change in the local political paradigm, which begins to face this space-time as a "new" opportunity for its economic, social and cultural development. We could say that the night and the activities that take place in it begin to be projected as forms of tourist attraction, whether for their leisure activities such as discos, parties or other forms of fun; or because of its cultural potential, such as the White Nights. Contemporary urban night implies having active professionals, capable of reacting to any incident, such as the case of health professionals, but also maintaining those professions – often illegal – that tend to be considered problematic or hidden as could be prostitution. Surveillance and control during this period is also a good example of active professions, such as the case of the police, surveillance companies, video-doorman, or firefighters. It has never been so easy to commute in the urban space, public transport normally meets the needs of users, and the emergence of new forms of transport resulting from the circular economy, both of people and goods, completes the demand, not without controversy. Cities are enclaves where the excluded inhabitants from "geographies of deprivation" enhance together, whether they be national (internal flows) or international (external flows); motivated by economic, geopolitical or even environmental factors. Today, the plurality of discourse on the "other" has been polarized, remarking a resurgence of xenophobic and ultra-protectionist movements. This situation is observable in the repositioning of several political parties and their constituencies, which manifest a new sensitivity to immigration policies, sometimes contaminated by fear and ignorance of the "other." Simultaneously, there is a sometimes inadequate or inefficient management regarding the capacity of receiving new migrants, creating situations of exclusion and segregation that favor the appearance of ghettos or marginal neighborhoods in the urban periphery. Emphasizing the heterogeneity of migrants, their plurality and difference, we find on the one hand what we might call "migrant elites" associated with highly skilled workers, or as alternatives the workforce with no qualifications. These diverse groups also experience different realities that must be considered. Regardless of the migratory group, they may participate in urban life, both as part of their integration and through their direct-participatory action.In another hand, violence and insecurity are present in the daily lives of citizens, in different forms and intensities. In this article we argue that Obama's victory, in the past presidential elections, had much to do with the charismatic effect that his biography exerted over the voters. Thus, as we will show through the analysis of the speeches he made during the electoral campaign, the personal story of the Democratic candidate mingled with his political message thanks to the technique of storytelling. However, the success of such strategy did not only lie in the fact that Obama's biography was presented to the citizens as an extraordinary story, either in the circumstance that the senator's physiognomy evoked the content of his message, becoming then a living symbol in an age of visual culture Assuming biography as the explanatory variable of the leadership process constitutes an original approach, since leadership is usually tackled by the social scientists from the perspective of personal qualities, context or behaviour. Grx3 and Grx4 are two monothiol glutaredoxins of Saccharomyces cerevisiae that have previously been characterized as regulators of Aft1 localization and therefore of iron homeostasis. In this study, we present data showing that both Grx3 and Grx4 have new roles in actin cytoskeleton remodeling and in cellular defenses against oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation. The Grx4 protein plays a unique role in the maintenance of actin cable integrity, which is independent of its role in the transcriptional regulation of Aft1. Grx3 plays an additive and redundant role, in combination with Grx4, in the organization of the actin cytoskeleton, both under normal conditions and in response to external oxidative stress. Each Grx3 and Grx4 protein contains a thioredoxin domain sequence (Trx), followed by a glutaredoxin domain (Grx). We performed functional analyses of each of the two domains and characterized different functions for them. Each of the two Grx domains plays a role in ROS detoxification and cell viability. However, the Trx domain of each Grx4 and Grx3 protein acts independently of its respective Grx domain in a novel function that involves the polarization of the actin cytoskeleton, which also determines cell resistance against oxidative conditions.
