A literature review on integrative actions aimed at improving living conditions and access through education in areas such as health, employment and social and political participation among vulnerable groups is presented. Particularly, integrative actions targeted to teenage mothers, single families and Muslim women in the Scottish context. This review is part of the research results of Socio-educational action to Overcome poverty and inequalities (2012-2014) funded by Beatriu de Pinós plan for post-doctoral research of the Generalitat de Catalunya [The Governtmnet of Catalonia], co-funded in turn by the Marie Curie Actions of the 7th Framework Programme of Research of the European Union. The research project was developed at the Institute for Education, Community and Society at the University of Edinburgh. ; Se presenta una revisión de la literatura sobre actuaciones integradas dirigidas a mejorar las condiciones de vida y el acceso a través de la educación en áreas como la salud, el empleo y la participación social y política en grupos vulnerables, concretamente, en madres adolescentes, familias monoparentales y mujeres musulmanas en el contexto escocés. Esta revisión es parte de los resultados de la investigación Socioeducational action to overcome poverty and inequalities (2012-2014) financiada por el Programa Beatriu de Pinós de ayudas a la investigación post-doctoral de la Generalitat de Catalunya, co-financiado a su vez por las Marie Curie Actions del 7º Programa Marco de Investigación de la Unión Europea. Ante la grave situación de la violencia de género que se está viviendo y su aumento en colectivos como el adolescente, el trabajo social tiene un papel clave en su detección precoz y en su prevención. Se presentan las aportaciones teóricas y prácticas que sustentan un trabajo social comunitario desde la socialización preventiva de la violencia de género; así como la necesidad de formación de las futuras personas profesionales del trabajo social en las principales aportaciones de la comunidad científica internacional sobre detección precoz y prevención de la violencia de género para que sean capaces de llevar a cabo en un futuro ese trabajo social comunitario desde la perspectiva de la socialización preventiva de la violencia de género. In view of how serious the current gender violence situation is and of the increase of such violence in some groups as the adolescents, social work has a key role in gender violence early detection and prevention. Theoretical contributions are presented, as well as practices which support a community-based social work starting from a preventive socialization against gender violence. The need to train the future social workers in the main contributions of the international scientific community about gender violence early detection and prevention is also emphasized. This training will enable them to carry out, in the future, this community-based social work from the gender violence preventive socialization perspective.

Se plantea la educación multicultural como base para la lucha contra el racismo y aboga por el respeto a todas las culturas, mediante una educación de adultos democrática, multicultural y respetuosa.

This article analyses a case study on Moroccan mothers' involvement in the Dialogic Literary Gathering (DLG) in an urban primary school in Catalonia (Spain). DLG is a dialogic learning environment that improves reading skills and communicative abilities and promotes school-community links. This activity has been identified in previous European Union (EU)-funded large scale research, the INCLUD-ED project, as a successful educational action. Children's results in standardised tests reported a significant improvement in communicative skills over the academic year. The case study highlights evidences on how this action contributed to transform family interactions at home. Discussions about classic works of literature were transferred to the child-parent interactions and were part of their daily lives. According to the data analysed, this experience affected mothers' and children's motivation to read and helped migrant mothers to improve the language acquisition of the host country. Mothers confirmed becoming more able to understand the schoolwork of their children and they felt more confident to help them with their homework.

Social impact assessment has become a major concern within the research community. While different methodological advancements have been made to better display, as well as to measure, achieved impacts, social media has proved to be a potential domain to generate many new opportunities to support both the communication as well as the realization of social impact. Within this context, the current research presents an analysis of how Twitter is used among a subset of research projects to maximize social impact. The research focuses on the use of Twitter, as one of the most often used social media, by the members of scientific projects funded under one part of the FP7 funding framework of the European Union called Science in Society. The data were analyzed using NVivo,and WordStat Provalis software. The results presented in this study include exploratory data analysis, topic mining and the analysis of the impact of projects on Twitter. The results indicate moderate use of Twitter among the observed projects, but with a strong focus on the dissemination of project results, thus indicating a trend towards the usage of social media for communicating the social impact of research projects.
