Peer reviewed ; [EN] This paper proposes a reflection on the present of Persona y democracia and its possible contribution to a critique of democratic reason. Three essential issues are considered: firstly, an elucidation of the concept of person or soul, as the heart of the political subject. Secondly, the tension and, indeed, contradiction between temporality as the intimate and plural dimension of the person, and history as its reductive and insufficient materialisation. Finally, an analysis of absolutism as the underlying structure of totalitarian ways of life.
[ES] Approximate interpretations of the fascism of Ortega and Gasset and María Zambrano, as diverging as their respective conceptions of liberalism and, ultimately, political rationality. In the case of Ortega, fascism would be a concrete expression of the rebellion of the masses, aggressive towards culture and liberal institutions. In the case of Zambrano, it would identify itself with nihilism and regression to myth, as a result of a process rooted in the heart of modern and even western logos. The two interpretations also differ from the complex backdrop of continuity and at the same time breaking down knowledge shared by teachers and discipules. ; Peer Reviewed ; [ES] Approximate interpretations of the fascism of Ortega and Gasset and María Zambrano, as diverging as their respective conceptions of liberalism and, ultimately, political rationality. Peer Reviewed ; [EN] Jose Gaos's diverse writings are reviewed, many of them scantily known and still unpublished, related to the area of the politics in the wide sense of the term. It was the case of some reflections motivated by the global protagonism of the war, the totalitarianism and the technocracy in the current manners of life, including those that are typical of the democratic western companies. In line with this protagonism, Gaos raised a genealogical review of the secularizing process of modern rationality, which will connect with some of his big worries, such as the possibility of the philosophy itself and the possibility of the Hispanic philosophy especially.
