Die Verfasserin gibt zunächst einen Überblick über die Entwicklung von Nahrungsmittelangebot und -nachfrage und arbeitet Faktoren heraus, die bereits seit geraumer Zeit eine krisenhafte Entwicklung eingeleitet haben. Genannt werden der Rückgang von Exporteinkünften und der Zusammenbruch des RGW-Handels, der Zusammenbruch des Handels zwischen den Republiken, die interne Krise der Nahrungsmittelversorgung, der Verlust monetärer Disziplin und die zu langsame Umsetzung von Reformmaßnahmen. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden Perspektiven der Nahrungsmittelversorgung sowohl von den Republiken der ehemaligen UdSSR als auch vom Westen ergriffene Gegenmaßnahmen erörtert. (BIOst-Wpt)
