This study addresse س†the issue of illegal dumping which is defined as throwing large amounts of material without a permit in areas not authorized by government authorities. These areas are usually on the sides of roads, public land and private sites and the sites that are not frequently visited by the public. The town of Almubailah South, in the Governorate of Muscat, was used as a case study because of its highly urbanized and increasing population growth. The study aims mainly to monitor the waste disposal sites in locations unauthorized in Almubailah South and draw the attention of the concerned government authorities in the Sultanate of Oman as well as raise community awareness about seriousness of the problem. The methodology is based on fieldwork, statistical analysis and remote sensing and GIS techniques employed to track and monitor the problem. The study results show that there are 27 locations in the study area containing a total volume of waste estimated at 7774.9 cubic meters of waste. The waste materials were found in heaps ranging from small-size materials accounting for 73% of the total volume of waste materials, and large-size materials accounting for 42%, and medium-size materials accounting for 15%. Remnants of building materials occupied the bulk of these waste materials in comparison with other types of waste and these were found in about 57% of the total sites The study recommends a joint cooperation between the public and private sectors so as to achieve an effective strategy to eradicate those landfills. The study also advocats supporting the activities of volunteers in awareness, cleaning campaigns and rehabilitation of affected sites through allocating part of the tax revenues, municipal violations revenues and revenues of automobile companies specializing in the sale of garbage trucks.

AbstractThis paper attempts to briefly examine the political role of the Indonesian military from its inception to its dominant position in Indonesian politics today. It also attempts to discuss whether or not it would continue to play the same role in the future. The paper will be divided into three sections: the political role of the military during the revolution, the increased political involvement of the military, conflicting interpretations of the military role and the possibility of future change.

Gresik, one of the industrial cities in Indonesia, has recorded that more than 1000 workers have been laid off. The increasing unemployment in Gresik makes the government have to work extra hard to help the community's problems. However, the burden of this community's powerlessness cannot be transferred to the government all the time. Even though the government is still very busy with the unresolved COVID-19 cases. The Community Service proposed by the UMG Industrial Engineering team took the theme of Fish Cultivation in Buckets (Fish farming in buckets), which is better known as aquaponics. The concept of Fish farming in buckets itself is to unite plants and fish in a bucket, resulting in a symbiotic mutualism that is very beneficial for both parties. The object of this research will be conducted at the Industrial Engineering Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Gresik (TI-UMG) by giving invitations to residents of Yosowilangun Gresik, especially the FAMILY WELFARE DEVELOPMENT group and the Yatim Mandiri foundation. The reason why the debriefing is preferred to the FAMILY WELFARE DEVELOPMENT and Yatim Mandiri groups is none other than the fact that FAMILY WELFARE DEVELOPMENT is a collection of housewives where it is likely that some of the heads of their families will be laid off. And the Yatim Mandiri Foundation is here to support the improvement of the economic independence of the orphan group.

Research cooperation between Somalia and Sweden began in 1982, but was interrupted in the early 1990s due to the civil war. As Somalia gradually starts the process of institution-building and shifting towards a federal system, the Swedish government is considering whether and in what form to re-establish its support for domestic research capabilities. This report for the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and in partnership with the Somali Institute for Development Research and Analysis (SIDRA) investigates opportunities for research cooperation in Somalia. The study was organised around three guiding questions: What are the key enabling factors and barriers to research performance and academic freedom at universities in Somalia today? What are the current ongoing initiatives termed, defined or categorised as "research" support or cooperation to and in Somalia? What are the different opportunities and modalities for support to and organisation of research cooperation in Somalia?
