We report the findings from an ongoing study on the relationship between bilinguals' language experience and cognitive control. Previous research suggests that early bilingualism exerts an advantage on executive control, possibly due to the cognitive requirements involved in the daily juggling of two languages (Adesope, Lavin, Thompson, & Ungerleider, 2010). However, other researchers also have argued against a cognitive control advantage in bilinguals (Hilchey & Klein, 2011). It remains unclear whether cognitive benefits hold true for bilinguals across different contexts, given differences in sociolinguistic and socioeducational settings that shape individual bilingualism. In the current study, following Costa, Hernández and Sebastián-Gallés (2008) who tested Catalan-Spanish bilinguals, young adult simultaneous heritage bilinguals and late classroom emerging bilinguals of Spanish in the U.S. completed three blocks of the
Attentional Network Task (ANT) (Fan, McCandliss, Sommer, Raz, & Posner, 2002) to gauge
executive control abilities. Results for the executive network component of the ANT reveal no significant differences between the two bilingual groups, although the descriptive data trend suggests that HL bilinguals experienced less difficulty in solving conflicting information and demonstrated fewer switching costs between trials. These first findings imply that the bilingual advantage is not replicated across contexts, and that socioeducational practices determine individual patterns of language use, which in turn leads to variation in cognitive outcomes.

En el presente trabajo, justo cuando se cumple el primer centenario de su muerte (1916), se da a conocer el manuscrito autógrafo de cinco marchas militares para piano de Enrique Granados, tres de las cuales habían permanecido inéditas hasta ahora. Se trata de un obsequio del pianista catalán al rey Alfonso XIII, cuyo hallazgo se llevó a cabo en el archivo de la Real Biblioteca del Palacio Real de Madrid. De estas cinco marchas, únicamente habían sido editadas con anterioridad dos de ellas, las cuales fueron catalogadas, junto con otra atribuida a Granados, con el número DLR III:23. El estudio y análisis de las tres marchas militares restantes nos ha permitido reconocer una versión previa para piano de las Dos marchas militares escritas para piano a cuatro manos y una obra totalmente inédita del compositor catalán. El presente hallazgo, además de ampliar el catálogo compositivo de Granados, resalta su incursión por el género de las marchas militares, muy conocido por motivos familiares, y su relación con el rey Alfonso XIII.

The method uses a generalized Hellmann-Feynman theorem applied to a multi-state description based on diatomics-in-molecules (for H 3 +) or triatomics-in-molecules (for H 4 + and H 5 +) formalisms, corrected with a permutationally invariant many-body term to get high accuracy. The analytical non-adiabatic coupling matrix elements are compared with ab initio calculations performed at multi-reference configuration interaction level. These magnitudes are used to calculate H 2 (v ′ = 0, j ′ = 0) + H 2 + (v, j = 0) collisions, to determine the effect of electronic transitions using a molecular dynamics method with electronic transitions. Cross sections for several initial vibrational states of H 2 + are calculated and compared with the available experimental data, yielding an excellent agreement. The effect of vibrational excitation of H 2 + reactant and its relation with non-adiabatic processes are discussed. Also, the behavior at low collisional energies, in the 1 meV-0.1 eV interval, of interest in astrophysical environments, is discussed in terms of the long range behaviour of the interaction potential which is properly described within the triatomics-in-molecules formalism. Starting in the middle of March 2020, various lockdown measures and degrees of confinement were put in place in most European countries as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although this situation meant that more people were likely to experience poorer mental health, largely due to the imposition of social distancing measures, many individuals incorporated music into their coping routines to help improve their psychological well-being. Using a gender perspective, this study analyzes how individuals used music during lockdown and explores the differences between men's and women's views on the impact that listening to and making music has on their perceived level of well-being. A questionnaire, MUSIVID19, was administered to a sample of 1868 participants from all the autonomous regions in Spain. The results reveal that in the uses and perceptions of music, the stereotypes underlying the patriarchal system were also reproduced during confinement.

This manuscript version is made available under the CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 license http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ ; The combined performance of a synthetic CaO-Ca12Al14O33 sorbent and an Ni-MgAl2O4 reforming catalyst was tested in a fluidized bed reactor under relevant operating conditions for the sorption-enhanced reforming (SER) process. The effect of CH4 space velocity (i.e. kgCH4/h·kgcat), steam-to-carbon (S/C) ratio and superficial gas velocity on product gas composition was assessed, as well as the effect of regeneration conditions on material performance. Moreover, a bi-functional material prepared by mechanical mixing of the separate materials was also tested in the reactor under consecutive SER/regeneration cycles. H2 contents as high as 96 vol% (N2 free, dry basis) were achieved under SER operation, using the separate materials working with an Ni content of 3.75 wt% in the solid bed at 650 °C with S/C ratios of 3 and 4. This solid system is able to process up to 0.63 kgCH4/h·kgcat at 0.1 m/s superficial gas velocity and with an S/C ratio of 4, although the CH4 input has to be reduced to 0.33 kgCH4/h·kgcat when working with a lower S/C ratio. Similar H2 contents to those found with the separate materials were obtained with the combined sorbent-catalyst material working with 0.33 kgCH4/h·kgcat at 0.1 m/s superficial gas velocity and S/C ratios of 3 and 4. The CO2 sorption capacity of the combined material produced the same as that of the separate sorbent particles (i.e. around 0.25 gCO2/g calcined sorbent), while remaining stable throughout the SER/regeneration cycles. ; This work was supported by the European Union (Grant agreement No. 608512) and the Regional Government of Aragon (DGA) under its research groups support programme. ; Peer reviewed
