Objectives: verifying the types of mental disorders that most affect teachers treated in a service of medical expertise. Method: a retrospective study of documental nature with a quantitative approach developed in a Higher Education Institution of João Pessoa city – PB. The sample was composed of 254 sheets of teachers treated in a service of medical expertise of the institution selected for the study, in the period from January to 1999 to March 2011. Data obtained were analyzed through frequency and percentage. Results: almost all the sample was composed of female teachers, aged between 40 and 49, and depression was responsible for 52% absenteeism of teachers, followed by schizophrenia (12%), bipolar disorder (10%), acute reaction to stress (8%), anxiety (7%), delusional disorder (4%), and others (8%). Conclusion: the mental disorder that most affects the searched teacher category is depression. Therefore, further investigations are needed that can analyze the severity of this problematic pathology in academic area.

Objective: To analyze the practices of nursing professionals of a Hospital Emergency and Emergency, directed to self-care; characterize them as the weekly schedule of work and ascertain the difficulties that are to take care of themselves. Method: This exploratory-descriptive and qualitative, performed with a nursing team in July 2009 in a Hospital Emergency and Emergency Campina Grande / PB / Brazil. The empirical material was analyzed using content analysis, having obeyed the precepts of Resolution 196/96, submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Centre for Higher Education and Development (CESED) which approved on 25/05/2009, No. 1846.0. 000405-09. Results: There was a perception of nursing professionals related to self-care; Practice of nursing directed to self-care for health maintenance, and difficulties encountered by practitioners for self-care. Conclusion: The practice of nursing directed to self-care showed negative aspects related to the theme.

Objective: To understand the repercussions of Community Therapy Integrative (ICT) among nursing students UFCG - Campus Cuité. Method: It is a qualitative research, with exploratory typology, and descriptive. Results: Were presented and discussed in an analytical category: (Re) Discovering ways: shares in Community Therapy Integrative wheels. Finally, ICT is an effective practice of care that values the promotion of health, promotes linkages and impacts the quality of life of the participants. Conclusion: It is hoped that the study contributes to the understanding to knowledge about the integrative practices of ICT in particular, so as to encourage spaces for sharing and of integrated care and humane.
