This book presents the complete and pioneering works of the great Spanish economist, Germán Bernácer (1883-1965), to an English audience for the first time. Bernácer, the first director of the Research Service of the Bank of Spain (1930-55), inspired Keynes' theory but was also a major critic and opponent of it. A macroeconomist by trade, Bernácer's major theory related to recurring crises, which he believed were inherent in the existence of speculative markets such as property, works of art, long term currency markets, commercial trading, materials, and energy. Bernácer believed that these speculative markets generate unearned income and hoarding, they abound in financial capital and, when such capital is captured, it then lacks in production industries where real value is created, draining their financing. The author shows how history has repeated itself in this manner in 1929, 2007, 2008, 2014 and 2016. The author derives his content from Bernácer's Spanish publications and his private correspondence with his contemporary economists, providing an historical and thematic insight into his thinking. It is well-timed to contribute to current worldwide debates on monetary, fi nancial and budgetary policies needed to implement an economic order that can restore economic stability, providing readers with rare and important insights into the deep roots of crises. International audience ; Les économistes et les stratèges s'intéressent à la croissance du capital comme facteur clé de la performance. Les chercheurs en comportement organisationnel et en psy-chologie industrielle considèrent quant à eux que le changement dans le contenu du travail est une variable clé de cette performance, et tentent de prédire la performance individuelle. Mais ces théories disponibles ne permettent pas aujourd'hui de prédire la performance, de l'individu ou de l'organisation. Nous proposons de considérer que le facteur résiduel de la fonction de production peut être éclairé par le concept de coûts-performances cachés, pour mieux comprendre le « trou noir » des théories de la performance. Le modèle multi-niveaux que nous proposons repose sur une hypothèse d'isomorphisme, du niveau sociétal au niveau individuel, en passant par l'organisation et l'équipe de travail. Cet article vise à présenter ce modèle, à décrire les variables, dans la perspective d'une articulation entre la performance organisationnelle et individuelle : comment la performance de l'individu dans une organisation et inséré dans une équipe de travail, influence-t-elle la performance de l'entreprise ? Il révèle une dimension sous-jacente implicite mais fondamentale du modèle : les variables d'une politique de développement de la responsabilité sociale (RSE) et son impact sur la performance organisationnelle.

Cet article propose un éclairage hétérodoxe de la problématique du risque psychosocial au travail dans le champ scientifique du management socio-économique des organisations. Le management est profondément marqué par les stéréotypes des courants économiques historiques. Certes, la problématique du risque psychosocial est légitime, pertinente, même universelle. Mais elle est dévoyée, survalorisée ou sous-estimée en fonction des groupes de pression. Qu'est-ce qui se montre en fait et comment la prendre en considération ? Si la pratique du management des organisations ne se renouvelle pas, elle continuera de s'enliser dans les impératifs des stéréotypes qu'il s'agit de démystifier. Pour le courant de la gestion socio-économique des organisations, la science est solidaire de la dignité.
