In The Soul of a Nation: America as a Tradition of Inquiry and Nationhood, Chris Altieri contends that the forma mentis of the founders of the political society often viewed--by its members and by those external to it--as the non plus ultra of modernity, i.e., the United States of America, is really steeped in the more ancient tradition of thinking that began in Athens and continued through the Christian centuries.Engaging the twentieth-century philosophers Eric Voegelin, Alasdair MacIntyre, and Stanley Cavell--in critical conversation with the founding fathers--the author shows that a broad conversation regarding the constitution of society is constitutively present in the public discourse of the people that began to recognize itself during the imperial crisis of the late eighteenth-century British America; that the participants in that conversation have at least an inchoate awareness of society as at once cosmic and anthropological; and that that political society is therefore an apt field of study in and for the general science of order

Puentes è la piattaforma di e-learning nata ad ottobre 2012 dalla collaborazione fra il Dottorato di Ricerca in "Scienze Politiche e Sociali Internazionali" (XXV Ciclo e seguenti) dell'Università di Teramo e l'Istituto di Cristallografia del CNR di Montelibretti (RM) per permettere la formazione a distanza dei dottorandi dell'Università Mundial di La Paz in Messico, completando il percorso di studi iniziato presso l'Università di Teramo negli anni precedenti in virtù del dottorato congiunto di ricerca in "Ciencias Politicas y Sociales internacionales" (sede La Paz - BCS) con quello in Scienze politiche e sociali internazionali (sede Teramo). Questo articolo illustra la metodologia utilizzata da due corsi specifici nell'ambito del ciclo di lezioni on line, il primo su "Il conflitto: risvolti antropologici dello spazio giuridico e politico", comprensivo del modulo su "La rappresentazione dei bisogni e l'amministrazione come apparato", ed il secondo su "Elementi di etica della cultura", ponendo in evidenza i risultati positivi ed i miglioramenti da introdurre per usare a pieno le possibilità offerte dalla piattaforma Moodle.
