The Constitutional Convention was held from May 25 to September 17, 1787in Philadelphia. It was convened in order to amend the Articles of Confederation which had established the United States as a confederation with a weak central government. This is an examination three major documents that are fundamental in the history of the United States: The Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and Constitution of the United States.
